7 days... spooky!

I feel like I actually want to go back to work tomorrow. I had such a good day today... but it was my last day there... for this summer at least. Everyone was so nice today... so many well wishes for school and life. Not that they are not nice normally, but everyone was really sad to see me leave. Even my supervisor, who seems a little cold most of the time, gave me a big hug and said she hoped I came back next year. Then when she realized I was planning on buying a plant for my rez, she told the cashier to give me double my regular discount! SWEET! It was such a small plant anyways, but I saved a few cents at least. Awwww!

When I came home my neighbour stopped by with a cake she had made specially for me! Not for my birthday or anything... just because she's going to miss me. Awwww! She's like a third grandmother to me or something... some people are just soooo sweet!

Tomorrow I'm going to spend the day packing... need to do a LOT of packing!
7 Days until school/my bday. Seven Days....

Long Day Yesterday!

Yesterday: Woke up at 4:45 am. Got ready for work and made it on time for 6:00am. The man who let me in and I were the only ones in the whole massive store at the time... and he decided to leave me so that he could get a coffee. (Makes me hate coffee even more!) Anyways, so I was all alone for like 30 mins in this huge store (I've never even seen the whole store yet). You can imagine how creeped out I was. Did I mention it's pitch black at 6:00 am? Well it is. I honestly thought someone else was going to pop out of the shadows... I was soooo scared! Meh.. I got the job done anyways and finally other people started arriving. When my shift ended I drove down to the movie theatre where I met up with Sharon... we did some shopping to kill the time... got some awesome deals (scarfs originally 14.99 each... got them for .99 each - I saved $14!! - lol... that's why I got two... but Sharon bought three!). Then we went back to the theatre and saw 'step up'. I don't think it was as good as other people said it was... but I loved the final dance. Then we did some more shopping until Henry (Sharon's bf) came to meet us for dinner. When he got there I drove to pizza hut (classy eh?). Good dinner with them... on Henry! He he! Finally it was getting dark so I wanted to go home and fall asleep... said my final goodbye to Sharon... then drove home. The End.

Happy Birthday Wishes!

Wow! Today is a big day for a lot of people! Happy birthday wishes go out to Ceri D (because she is so awesome and doesn't realize it!), and Anuj B. and Jon B.! I hope you all have a good night!

Awesome Way To End It!

Friday: Woke up early, drove to Tacky's house where I was surprised with an awesome birthday present for my room (Thanks again!). Then took her sibs out for Bowling. Micheal is just too good for us girls. Dropped them off, then Tacky and I went to my mall heaven of Vaughn Mills. (It's just so perfect there). We found a few good sales and bought a new outfit each. We spent quite a bit each actually. Then we went to the close mall and hung out until she had to go to work.

Saturday: Planned on going to see movie with some friends and then go for dinner... but then I started talking to Sharon and we decided to do some shopping first. We went to STC... but got bored quickly... so we went to IKEA to look around and have a cheap lunch (Thanks for paying!)... Then we went to a box-mall outlet center... got tons of good deals everywhere! (lots more cheap earings!) I'm so glad I went there before I go back to school. Then we went to FMP for some more shopping (cuz we missed the movie which we didn't really want to see anyways)... then met up with 2Celia, 2Jenny and Teri. Then we all went for dinner and met up with Tackie and Soukie at a japanese restaurant. I love those kinds of places... very yummy! Mmmm... bento boxs. After dinner we went to a pool hall I had never heard of, and played an hour of pool. Robin and Sharon were by far the best players. The two jennys and a celia may still be trying to hit a ball... lol. It was such a night to remember...

Sunday: Since my gma was up for the weekend, we went out for dinner (after a day of work) at a very posh restaurant. Tons of money wasted there... I think it's way to expensive... but still very yummy.

Only four more shifts until I done with that it! YAH!

What Happened to Summer? (scary pic!)

K, I come back from my weekend and I'm shocked about how little of a summer I have left. Fifteen days until the first day of school... and same until my birthday. Only six more shifts at work...

Today: Organize stuff... clean.... relax.... do nothing!
Thursday: Work
Friday: go out?
Saturday: go out?
Sunday - Thursday: Work
Friday: Pack
Saturday: Ottawa
Sunday: Ottawa

I'm happy my tattoo is still looking perfect.
P.S. Alice... I realized yesterday that my butt hurts from that canoe too...

Summation of my Trip

Friday: went grocery shopping with Tacky, picked up some candy, and bug spray along with some actual groceries. Dropped her off at work. Came home, pulled everything out of storage and started packing my suitcase of clothes and necessities. Called Janet out of fear that we didn't have enough space in my trunk for all our stuff. Picked Tacky up from work. Drove home for sleepover and watched a math movie called 'proof' with Tacky.

Saturday: Woke up really early and finished packing stuff. Woke up Tacky and had some breakfast. Then we left to pick up Janet and Doris. Stuffed everything amazingly into the car. Picked up Elyse and were able to fit everything in perfectly! We said goodbye to the crummy gta and headed north to Algonquin to do some camping! We only had to stop once for lunch and cuz I got tired of driving. So we pulled over in Huntsville, little did we know that it was their festival weekend and they had a huge sidewalk sale all down their main street along with inflatable rides for little kids and a huge band. We did some shopping and left our mark on the sidewalk in chalk. Then we were doing some photo time and this newspaper lady came over to take our picture and wanted to hear about our camping trip. But ours had only started so she left without a story but a lame photo instead. We had a docknic (lunch on the dock) then left huntsville and drove to out campsite. Set up the tents quite well and ended the day with some beach volleyball... and smores over a campfire!

Sunday: Woke up several times during the night because of all the rain we had gotten... thus Elyse was drenched in wetness, and I was soaked too... the others we just a little wet. So we ended up getting up really really early and spending some time trying to dry everything off. Janet got bumbed out cuz she had wanted to try kayaking but it was still raining a lot. So we decided to go for a drive. We ended up in a small town named Brancroft were it was also their festival weekend. This was an art festival and as were headed over we were greeted most friendly by a guy who explained what was going on and was so happy to have some visitors. We finally got away from him and looked around the park and some people's art work. We even entered our names into a draw... not like they would ever send the prize down to us though. lol. Then we took a little buggy ride to the other side of the park were we looked around. Alice and I got paint tattoos (which are still 100% in tack)... and the lady who did Alice's was actually a famous painter! I got the word dream in Chinese on my arm and Alice got a butterfly on her back. lol... the girl who did mine kept saying the word "tacky"... I was laughing very much inside. Our tattoos are water resistant and very sparkly! I have no idea when they will come off. Anyways, then we walked over to see Alice's tattoo ladies art gallery which was insane looking! She was really really good! Then we headed back to the campsite... were we dried some more things off. Doris made grilled cheese sandwiches for us. Then we decided it was a good time to go kayaking and canoeing... so we did that; Janet, Elyse and Doris tried out Kayaking and Alice and I were in a canoe. We did that for a few hours then headed back to the campsite for dinner. More drying off things under the dryer in the girls washroom while the others tried to make a fire. Didn't end up having dinner until like 11:00... but it was really really yummy!

Monday: Woke up much later... fairly dry but still a little wet. Janet and I washed our hair with the cold tap. Packed everything up... which took a while. Had lunch on the beach and played more beach volleyball. Ball went into the lake quite a few times but brave Janet rescued it. Then we headed home. Stopped randomly to get pictures with some signs. Then my gas sign came on and Janet and I got a little worried that we would never make it to a pump. I think we made it just in time! We made a stop in Orillia... a town I don't think I want to go back to ever again. It was quite deserted... and the people who were there freaked us out a bit. We visited the soon to be Lakehead campus in Orillia... which was probably the only cool thing about that town. Anyways, then we headed home and people were amazed at my geography knowledge of York. We all made it safely and our parents we very glad to see us.

Oh ya, and I took 204 pictues to prove all of this!

Maggie's One Year Older...

HAPPY BDAY MAGGIE!!!!
To my dearest ottawa shopper, have a happy 24th birthday! I hope you have an awesome day without me! Miss Ya & Luv Ya! See you soon!

Hey Maggie, this is a special little message just for you: You ROCK! You may not think today is very special, but today is your day. Treat yourself to something special... is that cookie place open during the summer? lol. Those were our special cookies... yummy... or maybe that desert place we discovered at the end of the year... Anyways, I obviously cannot be there today, but we are going to celebrate both our bdays soon enough. And we'll have a whole school year to do tons and tons of shopping.... So... once again.... have a very very happy birthday!

Evil Side of Charity

After my orthodontist appointment today I started baking. I had told this girl last week at work that I would submit some baking for our charity bake sale this week. Honestly, I only said I would because it's my old English teacher (for like four years)'s daughter. Plus, I secretly hope that I will show up with way better baking then she does. That's why I made 92 cookies today. Of course I ate a bunch myself and kept some for my family... so I'm really only bringing 80 cookies... which is still quite a few. So really I turned this charity event into a secret competition.... that sounds exactly like me! lol. The funny part is that I don't even know which charity it is. Some dude or something like that. I frankly don't even care what it's for... you'll probably never see me do any charity/volunteer work unless it's a competition of some sort. Don't know why I need to prove myself all the time... I just know it's always a war with Ry and I.... and he never cares if he wins or not... so that's frustrating. - Counting down the hours til I see him again! ta ta!

Not On My Day Off!

I wake up, like most terrible mornings, to the sound of my phone ringing. I answer it and hear a midaged man asking for me... and I get very confussed. Turns out it's this guy from work and he wants me to come in and water the stupid flowers for some reason. I'm like "FUCK!" Luckily I have a orthodentist appointment in the middle of the day that got me out of that. It's my day off, and I really don't want to go into work today... ack!

Missin' Ry...

Yesterday was a bad day, so I don't want to talk about it... not related to what happened, it was also the last day I saw Heather for the summer... and probably for quite some time... possibily almost a year from now i'll see her again. meh... I hope she has a good time at school and doesn't get hurt some more this year! lol.

I'm still thinking and reliving that garden party two days ago. It went better than I could have dreamed of. Trust me... best time with family since I can remember! And I realized it was all cuz Ry wasn't there.

Speaking of Ry, i'm really starting to miss the kid. He better come back safe... with lots of souvenirs pour moi! ha ha! But in fact, I don't like it that he's out of the country travelling all around the globe. First of all, that should be me... I'm the one who was meant to go everywhere. And secondly, that kid had a bad travel record... he gets sick all the time... how is here ever going to survive l'Afrique? He's just a KID!

Back to the garden party... at one point I was chatting with my gma and she was like... "oh... what happened to my drink? I must have left it on that table I was just at... shannon, could you go get it for me?" So I get up, walk across the garden to where she was sitting before and picked up her drink... all of a sudden I realized all eyes were on me... as if they thought it was my drink or something... so i made a point to quickly bring it back to my gma and say loudly "here YOU go!" lol.

I Actually Enjoyed it!

Just got back from el garden party. I was really dreading it... especially this year without Ry by my side. I was expecting a billion questions about school... which I got... but this may have been the first year I wasn't totally bored out of my mind. It's quite nice hanging out with older people once in a a while. I used to think Ry was my scapegoat... but now I realize he was just pulling me down all these years. Or maybe I finally have reached that age where people actually start paying attention to me and believe that they can have an intellectual conversation conmigo. Either way, tonight was totally different from every other family gathering I have been to. It was interesting to say the least. And I actually loved talking to my cousins. Yes they are at least ten - fifteen years older than I, but I have always liked to talk to them... you could say we even got along and were friendly tonight. I got invited down to one of their house's and my aunt and I had a conversation I never wanted to end (the cool t.v. aunt that is). She's really cool... but when I was complaining to her about my life she just thought I was cute. I suppose everyone complains about the same things when they are a certain age... so to her I was just being a kid... Anyways, I have to admit I actually had a good time...... Wow, that just feels weird to say. I'm growing up.

Eye Devil

Tomorrow's plans: wake up... breakfast... do chores... have shower... do nails, hair, makeup, and coordinate clothes... have lunch... go to Elyse's *je ne blague pas!*... hang out with her and Doran... go to grandmother's garden party (if you call it a bbq, she'll kill you!)... talk to old people and family I don't care about... play with darcie... make up lame excuse to go home... make lunch for work on sunday.... end day.

I went to the eye devil *cough* I mean eye doctor today. Yes... I hated it! (Tacky: je n'ai pas pleuré beaucoup, may il y avait des lames dans mes yeux.... et j'avais l'air d'une personne qui allait pleurer éventuellement. J'avais tellement peur!! - i'm sure that message would be super easy to translate.. but it's just for Tacky!). But my doctor said I don't need new glasses... but the ones I have are like old... so he said I might want to get some anyways. I happen to think the ones I have are good enough... so i'm sticking with my old pink ones for a while longer.

My t-shirt reads: Your Favourite Blonde

Lots of people have very rational fears of spiders, snakes, and creepy looking insects, as do I... but there is one fear I have that very few people have. I guess I'll just come out and say it: I'm afraid of the eye doctor! I'm telling you, they are pure evil! It's not that I'm afraid of them testing my eyes, or have a fear of getting glasses (I already have little pinks ones that I never use), for me, the worst part about the eye doctor is the one thing that seems so small and simple. I HATE the little puff of air the blow in your eyes. It scares me! I'm not going to go into detail, but I tend to freak out when I know it's coming. Tissues are needed.

I was suppose to go to the eye doctor today, but it got moved a few days... so we will see then if I am going to be getting new glasses. I don't think I really need them... except for driving at night and seeing the blackboard in class, but I haven't gotten any in at least two years. meh.

Screw you eye doctor!!... why does that blow test have to exist?!?

I was going to make this really cool post about what I was planning to do 2mora, but all plans are up in the air now b/c I had to cancel one thing. grr... it ruined everything! And it was the one thing I didn't want to do! lol. Well, I guess it's okay that it got moved to another day... didn't want to do it, and now i don't have to for at least another week! sweet!

Less then one month of work left! YEA! Excited that school's coming soon! Hoping my bro will come home soon!

Finally the House to Myself!

My bro is on his trip around the world, and my parents have finally gone back to work after their (far too long) vacation... and today I finally have a day off. This might be the first day this summer where I have the house all to myself. That's quite sad actually. But I really rather enjoy it. I can do whatever I want! I might bake a cake or something... lol. Who knows!

HEY SALUT TOI!

My mom's old friend from her uni days came over for dinner today. He greeted me with big "Hey salut toi!" (meaning: "Hey you!"). And I stood there going: "CRAP! That's FRENCH!". I just kinda said as little as possible as he asked me a ton of questions about school in french. I was like "WHOA!" - totally blown away by a sudden burst of french. Not looking forward to my tons of french classes this fall.... uh oh!

Dead Mouse Finds Home

Today a customer at work approached me and told me that she had found a dead mouse in one of our pots. Sure enough when I went to check it out it was there... so where some flies... gross! I called a brave male coworker to get rid of it for me... and even he needed a couple long sticks before he would go near it. The pot chosen by the mouse to die in was in fact one of the ugliest we have. If I had been the mouse, I would have chosen a much prettier pot, instead of a boxish mustard-color one. eeewwwwwwwwwwww! lol. Imagine the mouse hadn't been color blind though. What would make him/her choose that one? The whole thing got me thinking about the choise of where to die.

It all happened in slow motion.

Weirdest thing just happened! I was driving home in my little hick town down some really random hick street and I see this old guy (like 60ish) on one of those motor scooters. It's a three way intersection and he is crossing the road the way I want to turn so I just wait for him to make it to the other side before I advance. The old guy tries to get back onto the sidewalk but instead of going up where it is low, he tries to go over to curb. Motor Scooters don't go over curbs! Anyways, so the thing tobbles over ontop of him... and he falls to the ground right beside my car. I'm quite shocked. So I turn of my car and run over to him asking if he is okay. He was a nice guy so I helped him lift his scooter up so he can get back on it. Then this lady who was driving the same way I was sees why my car is stopped at the intersection and gets out to help me. Awwww.... Anyways, the guy is okay, nothing broke at least! But as the lady and I were helping him some other truck comes down the street (it's not normally even this busy) and just speeds right past us. How rude! meh. Everything worked out. The old guy learned not to try and go up a curb and I did a good deed. poor dude!

P.S. Hope you are having fun on vacation Tacky! Your last night here was so much fun!!
