Last night with friends...

Maggie called me when she finished work Thursday night... she wanted to go out to get something to eat. Spur of the moment, we decided to drag Heather along too as we went down to Zak's (I always thought it was a 'c' and not a 'k' but the bill i have here says it is in fact a 'k'). Since I have my exam demain (aka - must study a little tonight) and then my parents seront ici the following day, i realized it was the last night i would be able to spend gallivanting around Ottawa with my friends. After snack thingy there, we went back to Ms. Maggie's house and watched Freaky Friday... in the wee hours of friday morning. lol. You will all be proud to know that I didn't fall asleep until 4 am. *scandalous - i know*. Nyways, woke up this morning and hung out with Maggie until Heather awoke. After watching the price-is-right, family feud, and Sabrina (gotta love day time television!!) I said my goodbyes to Maggie, and Heather and I headed back up to my rez where I had to say another goodbye.

Had sushi for lunch - talking to Heather about it made me really want some. (It is quickly becoming my fav. food - who would have ever guessed?). It was Michelle Su who first introduced it to me when she got me to try some as we picnicked in my car in my high school parking lot sooo long ago... *thanx Michelle*. Nyways, after that I bought my last cookie from u.c. in the uc center. Soo many fond memories of those cookies, eh maggie?!?!? Seeing as how they are closed on weekends, i made sure i got one in before then. lol. sooooo sad!!!

Off to do some sort of study like activity... i'll get around to it... don't worry.

I *Heart* Freecell!!

Freecell is my fav game right now. It requires intellect, foresight, and patience. I was never really good at it, but i'm working hard at it, and one day I plan on having a 99% score. woot! lol, since i got this laptop I have played exactly 380 games, and won 320 of those games (84%). Since I lost sooo many I could probably never get a 100% score, so 99% is what I'm shooting for. Right now I'm on a 40 game win streak. woot!!! (my best ever!)

So on to aujourd'hui. Since I plan on hitting the books demain, I took the time to help a friend shop for the perfect bday gift for his friend. I'm honored that I got to be their little personal shopper in the byward market. Hope your friend likes it!! Es muy bonita!

printemps termine + l'été vient

I was pretty excited about shopping this morning. Maggie and I set out, we had a lunch in a pub, then headed down towards parliament for our shopping. The one store that I really wanted to go to the most closed down... pitty. Nevertheless we did find many new stores and I went into plazas I has never visited before. In this one store Maggie actually got me to try on a skirt. I didn't buy it, but it delighted me to know summer is really really close. yah!

Solamente un examen más!! Yippee! Si dices que no tienes examens y que tu verano ha venido temprano - je ne serais pas content du tout! lol. *jealous* GELOSA!!! (lol, guess who learned a new word... if only i knew how to say it...) - gelosa is italian for jealous (obviously)

Was I really a jerk?

It's not that I regret what I just did, I just know I'd have been happier if I didn't do it. Nevertheless, I'm glad I did it b/c I know the truth can hurt and scare you but it's better to know it than to be ignorant. At least I know there is a problem now.

When I did this thing, I found out far more then I was had planned. Most of it really hurt and shocked me. I'm really not one for crying, but I was on the verge of tears as a placed a desperate call to Tacky who I knew would save me. It's questionable why I called her, since she wasn't really all that close to the situation, but I'm glad nevertheless that I did choose her. Thanx for cheering me up Tacky and good luck with your exams - don't worry, I'm sure you choose the right courses too!

-sincerely, freaked out chick who needs to be alone right now

Numb - Linkin Park

So I wake up this morning at 6:30 am. Can't go back to sleep. My room is still dark. I think - well, i guess this is the perfect opportunity to study. I get up, and decide, maybe I should have a shower first... then I needed to check my email... then I facebooked a little... eventually I got around to actually studying. After 30 mins of that, I decided that I was bored and needed to check msn.... then downloaded an episode of Friends that I had never seen - german detergent!!! LOL!!!!.... then back to msn... then straightened my hair - I swear it looked so nice this morning, then when I went out in the rain, it got a ruined... grrrrr....

So you get the point, I did almost everything but study this morning. I wasn't hungry b/c last night Ber called me around 8:30 and wanted to go to subway with me and her friend from english class (Kelly). This friend totally rocks b/c even though I had money and was perfectly able to pay for my own sub decides to buy Ber and me subs to get the 3 sub deal, and wouldn't let me pay her back. THANKS AGAIN! I really wanted to pay her back but she wouldn't take the money. Kelly, you are soooo nice!! I owe you!!! Nyways, back to this morning... I was so bored b/c there was nothing to do but study. ick!

During one of my study periods, i started randomly singing "All I want to do is be more like me and less like you" and couldn't figure out who sang the song and what it was called. Deciding that I need my millionth study break, I googled the lyrics (It's Linkin Park - Numb). Such a good song. I couldn't get it out of my head. So I download the song, and played it while reviewing my notes. *oh my...* (Shannon NEVER plays music while studying.) Shocking! lol. So I played it over and over and over again... at least 15 times before I left for my exam (each time desiring so badly to blare it super loud and shout out the lyrics). Anyways, I was a little freaked out due to the lack of studying. But alas, I finished early and felt pretty good about most of it except one little part - "the boy gave the girl the book" . is that suppose to be changed to passive or involve indirect object movement?!?!? I shall never know. lol.

After exam I met Maggie at her work, did a little shopping (just a little, I promise!) and then went with her for her lunch break. (M- would you like some cookies? / S- no thanx, oh wait - are they girl guide cookies? / M- nope, white oreo. / S-oh, no thanx...) I don't know why I said that Maggie!! lol. They are practically the same and it wouldn't have mattered what kind they were. meh... so random. After that I did a little more shopping - just a little... honest!!!!

Nyways, this is where I am now. going out later. hopefully getting free ice cream from Jon b/c he didn't believe I would make it more then two weeks in lent without it. lol. TTYL

I smell cookies...

Guess who's back... back again... shannon's back... tell a friend...

Yah for being back at school!! I actually really do like it here. But I've got to study like crazy for exam monday. eewwwwww.... not fun. I kinda wish I had studied just a little while I was home, instead of cramming the day before. Meh.... we all know I'll pass anyways, so what's with all my whining?

Went to the library today... I've decided from now on never to sit beside a window in there again. The pigeons were soooo close to me!! They kept walking past me on the other side of the glass that they were bigger than the little people walking outside a few floors below. I think I've said it before... Pigeons SCARE ME!
Must go study - ttyl

Another Shopping Post

Bonjour! Shopping today with Sharon was awesome. I can't believe I have to go back to school sooo soon!! *boohoo!* lol. Stupid exams!!

So, my official mall count for my little vacation between exams is: 9. That's pretty nice, but now that I think about it, I wouldn't have minded an even ten. lol. Still, nine is a lot considering there isn't even a mall in my small home town!! I actually have to go downtown to get to anything good.

Sharon and I were so brave today that we took a highway (100+ speed limit road). For once it wasn't me driving! (Thanx Sharon!!) It was pretty cool on the way down, but we got a little lost... sadly, we left the mall during rush hour amd it was sooo slow. When we came back from the mall we planned on visiting, we went to another mall, thus I only went to two malls today... the second mall I went to three times in the last week - lol!

Okay, so that's my last post about shopping for a while... no worries! I'll continue my normal rants about school work soon enough!

Shopping isn't a killer, it's keeping me alive!

Sorry Sammy, but I fail to see how shopping is going to kill me. Yesterday I went shopping and I'm still alive (making my mall count up to eight now.) Of course I went with Sharon, and yesterday we ventured downtown. *yah!* It didn't take us too long to get through the Eaton's center, so when we were done, we started walking around outside. We found were Sharon is going to be working this summer and we both (but mostly me) had an embarrassing moment with her boss.

Nyways, after that we went to see Scary Movie 4. It was okay. I don't recommend that u ever pay full price to see it. Some parts were funny in fact, I actually found it the funniest when Sharon didn't get it - lol, I had to explain to her was Viagra was... All in all, i'd give it a 4/10, or 2 stars for making me laugh but for not having much of a plot.

Today, I don't want to shock you guys, but I'm going shopping... again! It's my last day to do so before I have to get back to studying for my remaining exams.

P.S. I got some bad news last night, I was planning on working this summer where I did last summer, but my boss called me last night and said they aren't hiring as many people this year and that they have to stick with the people that worked there the longest. And thus, I'm jobless again.

Shopping Trip

hello. I must say, shopping with Sharon was amazing. We went all over the place. And now my official mall count is up to seven. yah!

Nyways, bought 8 things from claire's (67 cents each - most amazing sale of my life!!! [sharon's just sooo lucky!!]) today and thought about some skirts but didn't. meh. Obviously some chopsticks for my hair was one of those eight. I also got an irish teddy bear and a lot of earings... I'm wearing some star ones now but you can't tell.

Lol. On the way from one shopping area to the mall we got a little lost. We took a turn we were sure of but it turned out to be wrong. Ended up far to west then planned. Sharon actually took out the map and tried to figure out how to get the mall and see where we were. We should have known to go east not west!! oops!

I HAVE CURLY HAIR AGAIN!!

Good morning! I wanted to update last night but mi padre wouldn't leave me alone... and when he finally did, I was too tired. I even had a picture ready for my post - aka the first one of me in pigtails. The second one was taken this morning so that you can see what I look like while I'm posting. I like being home because my daddy can do my hair for me. curlyness!! yah!! lol. It's more interesting then the boring straightness that I normally have. But I can't make it curly on my own... lol - you also probably don't realize how much hair gel has to go into that just to keep it that way for the day. :)

Nyways, yesterday I was going to post about my awesome easter monday with mi hermano. First we did our chorses - how fun. lol. We mostly just had to go around town picking stuff up. meh. But for lunch we left town (yah!! any attempts to get him to leave town most be good). We went to this chinese place that Ry adores. After eating there, we went to P-Mall (*total shockes by anyone who knows what that is*). Yah, I took him down to market village and P-mall... and he actually wanted to go. Although he did spent a lot of time making fun of some cultural differences... tsk tsk. Anyways, he has now joined my circle of lies to prevent my parents from knowing that we went there. meh. They don't know that I have ever been inside p-mall. lol. Nyways, it was a good day... hope shopping with Sharon goes well today too. TTYL

I'm a Goat

The Reincarnation Station: http://www.reincarnationstation.com/

I will be reincarnated as: A Goat

Almost 61% of people will be reincarnated as a higher form of life than you. There's quite a bit of room for improvement in your life. If you continue to follow your current path, many obstacles you await you in your next life.

Happy Easter!!

Yesterday was pretty alright. I spend the day shopping avec mi madre. She took me to two new malls that I had never been to. They were both alright, but nothing super special. They were just average. Feh! The best thing about shopping con ella is that she'll buy me stuff. Yah for new expensive pants!! Très jolie - muy bonita!

Today is Easter. I don't know if you know, but that means I can eat ice cream again!! SWEET!! Surprisingly I still haven't had any yet. That'll change of course, probably by the end of the day, but it's nice to know that I didn't go running towards the freezer as soon as midnight came last night. :)

MALL COUNT: (aka number of malls I'v been to so far - not including markets and strip plazas) = 5.
Yes, I have only been to five different malls so far... shame shame... that number is far too low... but it's okay, by the end of this vacation home I plan on adding to that number just a little. lol.

OH YA! I don't know if you guys have ever seen this or not, but yesterday while shopping at both malls they had this huge Easter setting set up so that children could have their picture taken with the Easter bunny (just like Santa Clause in December). I thought this was kinda sick. I'd never seen it before, but at both malls there were line ups and everything. I was gross. Stupid over commercialized Easter. Although I do really miss those Easter eggs hunts...

Part 2 Of Plot To Surprise Alice

Yesterday had been planned for months. It took some super scheming by some U of T students (so you know it HAS to be good) to make Alice be surprised for her birthday - again! lol. Her other surprise was really more of a last minute twist to the plot by Souki and I...

Nyways, yesterday I met Sharon at the mall (a pretty decent mall that's for sure) where we shopped and ate lunch. We grew tired of it after only two hours and went down to Eaton's center. We were suppose to meet Robin there, but we were angry that we had to wait soo long for him. Thus we didn't use the fact that we were at the Eaton's center to our advantage.... grrr.... only got to go to a couple of stores... boo hooo... anyways, we finally met up with him and ran into some people that we knew from high school. After catching up, Robin, Sharon and I made our way to UT and met up with 2Celia, and Jacky before going to the sushi restaurant (I know... again!!). Jenny came in with Alice and we surprised her (mostly confused her too). But I really think she liked her gift. YAH!! Other Jenny came later and we made a perfect party of 9.

After dinner we went to a karaoke bar and rented a room. Due to some culture differences, we sang mostly songs we all HAD to know - aka spice girls and back street boys. They tried to get me to sing but I was soo quiet that even having the mic right infront of my mouth didn't help. It turns out there are a lot of good singers in out group... interesting....

Nyways, Alice was definitely surprised this year... lol...
If I surprised her once when she turned 16, and twice when she turned 19, does that mean I most surprise her three times when she turns 22??!?

This computer doesn't have spell check... (sorry)

Yesterday was pretty yummy. After the cookies, I made rice crispy squares with chocolate chips and then a really beautiful two-layer banana cake with sexy purple icing and banana pieces as decoration. Not only did it look kick ass, but it tastes pretty awesome too!! (lol- it's also making an amazing breakfact! yum yum!!)

Today is going to be pretty cool too... shopping with Sharon is always one of my fav activites!

This morning I did something really stupid. I wasn't thinking, I admit. While driving my bro to school this morning (his school starts really late) I thought I saw someone I knew near my house - most of you will know who I'm taking about. I didn't say anything, but after I dropped my bro off I drove back to where I had seen him (obviously he wasn't there anymore,) but instead of turning down the street that goes to my house, I decided to keep going to see if I could see this person again. Well I did see them, but it wasn't who I thought it was... at which point I realized how stupid it was of me to try and steal one last glimps of them. I need to grow up! I can't believe I just did that!

yummy chocolate chip cookies...

I feel like such a girl!! lol. This morning I got up bright an early (8:00am) and hung out with my bro b4 driving him to school. Then I proceeded to make like a million cookies - from scratch!! *oh my!* I don't know what I'm going to do for the rest of the day, but it's going to be f'in productive!! I'm not going to sit around like yesterday. Well, technically I did do stuff yesterday - drove bro to school, visited my g-ma and uncle for 3 hours, went shopping, had a cleaning at the dentist, picked my bro up from school, and then watched movies with him. I may have done stuff yesterday, but I didn't feel productive enough. Thus, on top of the possibility of more cookie baking, I'm going to actually do something useful. I refuse to be lazy!!

THIS TOWN SUCKS!!! (my rant)

Honestly, I hate this town. There are tons of things wrong with it - namely: all prejudices that could possibly exist for can be found here (a.k.a. - my town is a bunch of white europeans who hate anyone who is not: white, straight, and christian), plus my town doesn't have a mall, a movie theater, or anywhere to go to have fun. We don't have any brand-name clothing stores, department stores (walmart, sears...), or even a furniture store! Assuming my town has a population of about 9 - 11 thousand people, we have far too many gas stations, donut stores, pizzerias, movie rentals, and ESPECIALLY churches! Just counting the ones I know of, I came up with 9!! And it's pretty likely that I'm missing one or two. And I can name at least 10 more right outside the town. I guess this gives you a perfect idea of the small town values we have here. It's quite sick!

My parents used to live in the big city, but they moved up here and claim to be much happier. My brother, who practically NEVER leaves this town, will probably live here for the rest of his life. Me, on the other hand, who has spend the last 5 years getting out of town as much as humanly possible, is unlikely to ever set up here. I don't think i'm quite cut out for any town larger then Ott. but living in a town like mine would kill me. I hate that you can't go ANYWHERE without somebody recognizing you. And usually it's someone you don't like.

Well, that's my rant about my town. Please, don't move here! lol. I need to get out of town soon or I'll go crazy, but most of my friends are still in class or have exams. - HA HA! lol. I'm joking, after all, i'm technically in exams too. meh!

A Tacky Surprise!

I love being home and all, but as soon as I got back, I remembered why I loved Ottawa so much. My parents are the source of this feeling, cuz they simply refused to leave me alone. My bro took whatever alone time I could find to spend with me. Oh goodie! I understand that they totally miss me, but I fit back into my little niche right away - as if I had never left - but they acted like I just came back from a year long trip around the world. Ack!

Nyways, yesterday was so super awesome. After shopping in my hick town with parents - seriously, i had NO alone time! - I took my car and headed for Markham. I called Robin on my way down, cuz I couldn't call from my house without somebody listening in. I told him I was going shopping first, then I would pick up him and sammy so that we could surprise Tacky. Well, shopping was cool, although I realized I don't really like that mall too much. I suppose after going to it for 18 years it starts to lose interest. meh! After a little tour around the mall, carefully avoiding the store Tacky works at, I picked them up and we bought an oreo cake and candles at the grocery store. When we got back to the mall, souki went in and brought Alice out, while Sammy and I were hidden in the car. Tacky didn't even recognize my car when Robin was heading for it. She's soooo oblivious!!! lol. Still luv ya Tacky!! Anyways, we jumped out and surprised her and hugs went around. We definitely got her again! Yah!

We then went out to a real japanese sushi restaurant for dinner. So cool! Although they made me use chopsticks. At first I wasn't too bad, but as the night went on, my skills just died. The food there was really good! I like crap and chicken and salmon, and whatever else it was that we had. Although I really did like the restaurant (yummy strawberry slush!!), it was really expensive (over $100 for the 4 of us). Although I would go again if it wasn't sooo busy!! Another thing was that I'm too used to my english manners at a dinner table and wanted to take smaller bites of the sushi but that made it fall apart, which didn't help my chopsticks skills! Thus, stuffing a whole piece in my mouth was pretty hard, and caused a few incidents...

After dinner we went back to Sammy's house and ate the cake. Lighting the candles was certainly an experience b/c he couldn't find matches or a lighter. All good... Robin and I arranged the candles on the cake (mostly his work, but my idea!) and we sang her happy bday. We took rounds of photos and when we were done eating, we sat around and looked through our old high school year books.

That's basically the sum of the evening. I drove Tacky back home and told her I couldn't believe she hadn't noticed all the glitches that had occured that would have helped her realize what we were planning - a.k.a. stupid jon's comment about me having a good trip home on my last post. She actually read that!!!! gggrrrrrrr.... had it been anyone else but Alice they might have realized that I was actually coming home!!! I wish you hadn't written that!!!! She thankfully didn't see Maggie's comment, although I don't know when you posted that. Just b/c I don't update for one night doesn't mean that I'm not going to update again for two weeks! lol. I love updating!! I promised you that I would update whenever we were not together so that you could know what i'm up to. I plan on keeping that promise for quite some time!

Hope you enjoyed your surprise bday and that you didn't get in much trouble for not practicing piano! lol. I really wish it was your bday more often!!

Third Exam Down - 2 To Go!

This morning I finished my third exam. *painful* Now all my courses in french are out of the way, all i have left are my two english courses. Sweeet! Sadly the number of courses I took in french this semester outweigh my english ones - this will explain why I'm going so crappy this term. (Not really a valid explanation seeing as how I understand everything just fine - lol).

I'm sooo bored and there is nothing to do but study... shame shame. Maybe i'll put that off for a little while and through myself a you-made-it-through-half-your-exams-so-far party. 2lol. Meh!

Course selection has started and my schedule is sooo f'ed up. that's all i have to say.

Minnie Mouse & Scary Birds

This afternoon's exam was less then delightful. Let's just say I did way below what I expected and needed. *Curses*. Nyways, Maggie, in her kind way of wanting to help people who are feeling down, decided to drag me out for beavertails and so that we can exchange easter gifts. In the pic it's clear that she got me a Minnie Mouse stuffed animal in a pink egg and some rare chocolate from her home town. Coolness.

So ya, at the beavertail store (beavertails are thin pieces of pastry topped with whatever you want... sometimes candy), we were sitting outside eating the yummy pastries when spring attacked. Birds came from every direction, flying far too close to us and actually causing me to scream just a little. FREAKY! The birds were sooo close to us that it totally freaked me out. Not Cool! I swear one was going to fly at my head.

Nyways, that was my afternoon, now it's time to go study for my exam 2mora. Joy! - P.S. Thanks again maggie for my minnie... she's sooo cute!! Plus chocolate, which always rocks. Hope I got you what you needed.

An Amazing Poem

Graciela - by: Gary Soto
Wedding Night
Graciela bled lighty -
But enough to stain his thighs -
And left an alphabet
Of teeth marks on his arm.
At this, he was happy.
They drank mescal
In bed like the rich
And smoked cigarettes.
She asleep
And the bottle empty, he hid
A few coins in her left show,
Earrings in the right.
They worked long hours
Hoeing crooked rows of maize.
Evenings she wove rugs
And embroidered curtains
To market in Taxco.
In short they lived well.
However in the seventh month
With child, her belly
Rising like a portion of the sun,
Something knotted inside her.
The ribs ached. A fever climbed.
Manuel summoned the Partera
And though she burned pepper,
And tied belts around
The stretched belly,
The child did not ease out,
Days later she turned
Onto her belly
And between her legs
Unraveled a spine of blood.

SNOW?!?

I just have one question - WTF is with all this snow?!?! I went to bed planning to wear sandals and a t-shirt today, I wake up - and there is SNOW!! I mean, WHERE DID IT COME FROM?!?? It was really nice weather on friday, and now it's just cold. I actually had to take out my winter coat!!

So I just got back from the mall... not cool, I couldn't find what I was looking for - although it wasn't anything specific... but that's not the point. I had to brave Ottawa's cold weather to get there, and the shopping therapy that I desperately needed to distress was not successful. GGRRrrrr!!

At least it's Gilmore Girls Night! That'll chear me up!

-I'm still wondering about this stupid blizzard that hit!

HAPPY BDAY TACKY!!!

Happy 19th Birfday Alice!!
Hope being 19 is good to you. I wish I was there to celebrate with you, although, from the sounds of it, you are pretty busy! Good Luck with everything!

I clearly don't have Sammy or Robin's photoshoping skills, plus I don't own a copy of photoshop in Ottawa, but at least there is always the basicness of Paint! lol. Happy Birthday!! I hope you get spoiled.

yummy + free midnight snacks...

OMG! Shannon is actually awake and blogging at 1:30 am!! This is scandalous! Lol. Tonight was floor activity night, where we blow the floor funds doing a final activity together. So a bunch of people from our floor (basically the ones who decided it would be more fun to hang out at a restaurant with friends then get puke-face-drunk) got together, and we left around 11:00pm. We went to this cute restaurant downtown and each ordered whatever we wanted, for free! *yah!* Go freeness!! I ordered waffles with wip cream, strawberries, and maple suryp (same deal as what Tacky + Robin got last time I was home but I wan't able to eat it that time b/c I had a killer shake). It was pretty good, but I think the one at the Pickle Barrel was better. Grr.... oh well, you can't complain when it is free!

Ha Ha, very funny...

OMG!! I'm really pissed off. 4:00am came around and all of a sudden I wake up to this really loud noise. It takes me a couple of seconds to realize it's the friggin' fire alarm. I think "WTF??" as I scurry around my room looking for my keys, cell phone, and a jacket. Then sleepily I begin the mass exiting of people from the building. Yes, I am very very pissed. I get outside and I don't really see anyone I know, so I text message Maggie to tell her how pissed off I am that it is 4 am and I'm outside in my PJs. Finally I find someone from my floor and we wait it out. She tells me that someone wished her a "happy april fools" on her way down the stairs and I realize that it was obviously a prank all along. Sadly I had been too sleepy to figure that out on my own. 20 mins later I'm back in my room - thanx to a sweet connection with the guy in charge of the elevator, we got in right away! I never really made it back to sleep again...
I'm glad they caught the guys who did it (I assume that the two boys in handcuffs were the them), and I hope they are severely punished. Ha ha, I admit, they fooled me, now they should die! lol. k, not really, but 4am is still an outrage!

I officially hate pigeons.

As Heather and I predicted, once you actually start the maudite thing, it's not sooo bad. When I started, I realized I wouldn't mind another resource, and since I literally live 20 seconds away from the library, I decided to go. For me, every trip to the library is a terrible story. Here is what happened to day: The books I wanted to look at were super easy to find and I had no probs there, but when I sat down to see if the books I chose would be helpful, I was stupid to pick a window seat. Outside on the ledge (there is a pretty think ledge up there) was what looked like a GIANT RAT! I almost let out a crazy loud scream but I silenced it when I realized tt wasn't really a rat - it was actually a fat pigeon. Nevertheless, I was totally creeped out by it. I watched it sit there and look evil... and I started to think of the movie: the birds. Ya, that was not a smart idea! I had visions of it breaking the glass and killing me poor innocent little me. lol. This sounds totally stupid now, but honestly, you had to have been there.
I was at the library for over an hour, and the stupid pigeon was there the WHOLE time. Near the end, another one came to join it... so I was totally creeped out b/c the pigeon was gaining friends. ahhh!!

Anyways, after the library I was actually on a role for a while. I wrote enough to satisfy myself before my maudite neighbour came home and turned on his maudite base. My night is spoiled b/c of him.

My English Essay Scare Me

It is time to start the weekend of horror. I have a terrible english essay which is due in exactly one week. I REALLY don't want to do it. I think I am actually scared of it. I really just need to start it, maybe then it will not feel so daunting. Maudite Essay!

I was crabby last night, I apoligize. I should never have written that I did not want to be talked to. (it says something like that in french). Talking always makes me feel better about things. I don't want to run away.

Die Subjonctif Die!!

I have an exam 2mora. yah for French!! I get an early start on my exams... oh goodie!! Well, there are benefits of having exams outside exam week... you do get more time to study for them i suppose. feh. And you are still in study mode, once exams start and classes end, it's harder to get up the energy to study.

Subjonctif rocks me socks. Il faut que tu fasses tes devoirs. Il est nécessaire que Maggie aille à tous ses classes. LOL! Tsk tsk... i'm frustrated at her for skipping for no good reason.

My tolerance is low. La stress me tue. Ne me parler pas s'il-te-plait.

Reflexion Produces Procrastination

I think I might have hurt somebody's feelings today by telling them something they didn't need to know. They were all happy, until I told them the truth... and I know it got them down. I don't know if I should have kept the truth to myself, or if I did the right thing. I guess the main question is: Are little white lies good or bad?

I know I was a wimp, cuz this winter wasn't as bad as some record low breaking ones, but I am still proud to have survived it. In this picture, I'm wearing my summer sunglasses and summer jacket.... cuz I'm unbelievably happy that it made it over 10 degrees today in Ottawa (it's a pathetic little celebration!) Yah for summer!!!!!!!! Please don't ever leave me again... I might not be able to survive another Ottawa winter... if you leave i'm screwed!! I love you summer!!!!!

P.S. I'm learning now why most blogs don't have music on them. It's cuz you get really sick of the song too quickly! Maybe I should take the music off... feh, whenever I have the time.

But the Smarties were calling my name...

You might not be able to tell, but in this picture my mouth is full of multicolored smarties. I was desperate for some chocolate... and smarties was the best choice in my rez vending machine. I have a funny way of eating smarties that I only ever do when I'm eating them alone or with my brother. This is what we do: separate all smarties by color - i.e. make groups of pink, groups of green..... Then, take one smartie from each group to form a new group that has all the colors... do this as many times as possible until one of your colors runs out. You should end up with a couple groups of ever single color smartie and some other really small groups with only a few smarties of all one color. The multicolored groups are set aside. You take the smallest of the single color groups and eat it. You work your way up (from smallest group to largest) until you a finished eating all of the single color groups. Then you move on to the multicolored groups and put each group into your mouth at a time. It's like a chocolate explosion!! Yummy yummy!!

Happy March 27th!!

I'm updating for the sake of updating. oh sad. I'm at the point where I will do anything so as not to be doing any homework. Tsk tsk Shannyn!

I can't believe I'll be nineteen this year. Damn that's old. Most of you are either already 19 or are about to be turning 19. I still have to wait about six months! ack! But when it does happen, I want to make it super special. For people I know in Ottawa, i'll celebrate when I come up here... but for all you markham folk, let's do something BIG this summer!! I'm dying to take a road trip somewhere... and it's not like we don't have the means!! lol. feh... that was just a random thought.

Post 219 ~

Friday was shopping day. My 'aunt' and 'uncle' picked me at at rez and we spent the afternoon shopping in Québec. Then came back to the restaurant district for dinner and ate at a mexican restaurant. Pollo is always the safest!! lol.

Saturday: stayed in my room, watched movies and did homework.

Sunday: stay in my room, do homework.

Last night around 2 a.m. there was a loud fight going on outside my room. I didn't want to get out of bed so I just waited it out in my room and fell back asleep. This morning I went to the bathroom and there is this huge whole in the wall right outside my door. It's ugly looking. I'm just waiting too see the damages our floor is going to have to pay for this.

..

I feel like crap. It's times like these I wish I had a roommate or somebody to take care of me. I wanna go home!

Sunday night I couldn't go to sleep until 2:00am b/c I had a bad case of the shills. I kept waking up during the night and never slept for more than 3 hours at a time. Monday I spent the whole time in bed except for when I went to the bathroom (that was as far as I could make it - which is about 10 feet outside my bedroom door). For some reason my tongue was practically white and I felt like throwing up all day. I tried to keep hydrated but nothing would bring my tongue back to it's regular pinkish self. I felt really weak and sick to my stomach and had the most painful headache of my life. Last night I still wasn't feeling much better - possibly b/c I hadn't eaten all day... but I was too weak to even go over to my neighbour's room and ask him to turn off his damn base. Consequently my head was still in sever pain.

My head still hurt, my stomach is still angry, but I never throw up and my tongue is looking happier. I think I should be better by 2mora.

Hope you feel better too Maggie.

Dear Anonymous,

It really creeps me out when I realize how many people could read this. I know there are some avid readers, some regular readers, some whenever-they-have-time readers, and some random readers, plus of course whoever happens to find their way to my blog that day... but it's scary to think that I just let all my thoughts and problems be read by so many people. When an anonymous person signed my blog today, whom I am dying to know who it is, I realized anyone could be reading my blog, even the people I trash. If they never leave a comment, I would never know they read it...
The way my blog is set up, is that I know who reads it, and therefore what I can and cannot say. Finding out that someone I didn't know had read my blog - and possibly has been reading my blog for a while - was a total shocker. I just hope I never said anything bad about them. I really have to watch what I say. Since when was a blog not about what you want to say, but about what you can say? Isn't that what real life is for? When you are restricted to saying certain things... but in my blog, I always wanted it to be more private... so that I could say whatever I wanted without the fear of someone feeling hurt.

Please tell me who you are Mr./Ms. Anonymous. I'm pretty sure you are a female from d.h.p.s. just tell me who you are!!! *pretty please with a cherry on top* It's mostly a matter of curiousity. I do like to know who reads this.

It's a creepy creepy small world...

Okay, my friends convinced me to get a facebook account. I did, and I was looking around at the people in my building. All of a sudden this name caught my eye: Trevor Greenham. That was the name of a guy in I knew in elementary school. I look at his pic - It's the guy I see ALL OVER campus! WEIRD! I messaged him, and it turns out he recognized me but hadn't said anything incase it wasn't me... OMG! I can't believe it been over 6 months and I never knew it was him!!! We lived in the same town!!! I'm totally shocked!! His sister was my reading buddy when I was like in grade one! I've seen his house! He went to the same high school as my brother! He helped me with my multiplication tables in grade 3. This is totally insane!

Okay, i've got to calm down and get over it.

Yes Maggie, We Did Get Work Done!!

Maggie called me after lunch today, and she + Heather convinced me to go down to her house to get my homework done. Mostly is was the promis of cake that did it. Lol, for once I actually got enough work done (Heather did way more though... congrats to her). I got really bored after a while and just started doing random crap. Like writing a letter to Maggie, decorating it, playing games on my computer, proof reading Heather's essay-in-progress, and eating Jelly Bellys. Yummy!! Nyways, thanx to Amy for driving me back to school... and to Maggie and Heather for getting me out of my room. TTYL (Below is a joke I got on St. Patty's day).

The Irish Are Too Funny --> Two men were sitting next to each other at a bar. After a while, one guy looks at the other and says, "I can't help but think, from listening to you, that you're from Ireland. The other guy responds proudly,"Yes, that I am". The first guy says, "So am I! and where about from Ireland might you be?" The other guy answers,"I'm from Dublin , I am." The first guy responds, and so am I" Sure and begora, And what street did you live on in Dublin ?" The other guy says,"A lovely little area it was, I lived on McCleary Street in the oldcentral part of town." The first guy says,"Faith & it's a small world, so did I! so did I! And to what school would you have been going?" The other guy answers,"Well now, I went to St. Mary's of course." The first guy gets really excited and says, "And so did I. Tell me, what year did you graduate?" The other guy answers,"Well, now, let's see, I graduated in 1964." The first guy exclaims,"The Good Lord must be smiling down upon us! I can hardly believe our good luck at winding up in the same bar tonight. Can you believe it, I graduated from St. Mary's in 1964 my own self."About this time, Vicky walks into the bar, sits down, and orders a beer. Brian, the bartender, walks over to Vicky, shaking his head & mutters,"It's going to be a long night tonight." Vicky asks,"Why do you say that, Brian?"
"The Murphy twins are drunk again."

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

My family is very very irish - and very very proud of this. When I was a young teen, I hated St. P day b/c my parents forced me to wear green. I rebelled! I especially remember I was forced to were green to church the weekend closed to St. P day! That was really cruel. I hated feeling like I HAD to wear it. One year I wore a green t-shirt, then secretly brought a sweatshirt and put it on whenever my parent's couldn't see me. Lol! Those were my rebellious days. This year however, I actually wanted to do laundry last night so that I could have something nice and green to wear. Times are a changin'.

Today I had my morning classes then went shopping after lunch with Maggie and her friend Amy. *yummy beavertails*. Maggie bought the game 'guess who' b/c I had really really wanted to play it when we were at the war museum with my bro but the stupid people wouldn't let us. So she bought it, then after out delicious beavertails we sat there playing guess who, in the middle of the caf of the mall. Lol! We probably looked crazy! It was super fun though!!

The rest of this weekend in for homework... (let's just see how long that plan lasts!).

I'm thinking I'm probably going to be one of the only people on my floor tonight. There is more to the irish than drinking!! St. Patricks' day is more then just a drinking fest!!!!
*hope you wore green though* -- unless you wanted to be anti cliché... which is okay too!

post 212 - my long awaited return

It feels like forever since I last posted. Let me recap my activities:
Monday, went to pick up my bro, Ry, at train station. Was unbelievably happy when I saw him. I took him on the train back to my rez, showed him around campus a bit, then we went to Parliament Hill. We went up the bell tower, took the tour (same one as when I was in grade 7 - everything looks the exact same too). Lol! Then we had the infamous Ottawa beavertails. (pastry with crap on top - we had the chocolate and peanut butter ones - so yummy). I'm sure you could buy them somewhere else, but I have only ever seen them in Ottawa. Nyways, then we just hung out and watched movies the rest of the evening. Tuesday I introduced him to Maggie and Heather, and the four of us went to play pool, air hockey, and ping pong. Turns out Heather and Ry are pretty good at all three. I totally sucked at pool and had to get them to teach me how to hold the stick... then at air hockey I faced off with Ry and met a challenger. Then we all played each other at ping pong. Ry and I started off and we were pretty crazy... instead of keeping the ball on the table, we were all over the room! (literally)!! Then we went to an on campus reataurant for dinner, which was okay. Nyways, then yesterday we went to the war museum - it was alright... very war like. My fav. part was kicking both Maggie and Ry's asses at some war time game. (Gotta love board games!) Lol, then went to Maggie and watched Swing Kids. It's an okay movie, but the highlights of being at her houses included Ry banging his head against her wall while made me shout "is the wall okay?" before asking if Ry's head was okay. Lol, and when Lewis and Heather came over and Ry asked him "who are you?". Lol, so rude Ry! Feh. For dinner we went to an actual restaurant! So Sammy will be happy to know that I actually took my bro out! and we did not JUST eat chocolate and candy the whole time!

I had such a busy day today that I am surprised I did so much. Woke up early, went to class, took notes, watched presentations, got out early, took bro to train station, avoided tempation of going to mall instead of back to school, made in back in time only to miss first 8 mins of my next class, had lunch, corrected my friend's work, organised my room, went to class, went to library, did research, had dinner, took a shower, talked to Ber + Maggie + Dad + Ry, reviewed and printed out homework, now here I am. It doesn't sound too bad, but I was really quiet crazy... I ran everywhere! Ack! TTYL - might shop 2mora!

Mi hermano!

Mi hermano is coming!! I'm crazy excited! C'est mon petit frère!! (Okay, I know I promised no more french, but I figure most of you should at least know that!) Nyways, he is coming! Yah!! I'm going to have a real visitor - not someone who already lives in Ottawa. We are going to hang out and spent all of our parents money on junk food and we will be fat little piggies in the end. LOL! But it will be high class junk food, so it will be not so bad! he he.

I doubt I'm going to update much while he is here b/c then he would find out about my blog, and that would be bad!! So.... cheerio until next post! Hasta La Vista!

Movie Night + Happy Bday Sammy (again!)

I saw libertine today with Maggie and Jon. We had to take a bus to the farthest end of Ottawa - okay, not literally, but it was the farthest out that I had ever been. But it was none the less a nice night... minus the fog, and Maggie's stomach not feeling to well. Plus the movie was 'interesting'. "I'm weeping from my other head" claimed a man in the movie... that's really just nasty. The whole movie is basically about theater, alcohol, and sex. It did look like a good movie though and Johnny Deep did make it decent... except in the end when he was really ugly and dying. Therefore, en somme, I don't really suggest you go see it!

I really want to make a post in Italian, but I don't speak a word of it - at least no more than the common person. But this doesn't mean that I can't try!

Oggi, ho visto un film - non era buono. ho mangiato il popcorn - lotti e lotti di popcorn (Troppo di esso). In ogni modo, il mio fratello sta venendo visitar!! Domani!! *Sono felice*. Lo Amo!!

Okay, if you speak Italian, do not be offended! I don't speak it, so you can't blame me for my mistakes! Nevertheless, I do kinda wanna learn the language - although it's far to close to french and Spanish, neither of which I have finished mastering. Anyhow, I would like to know what 'popcorn' is in Italian, b/c i could not translate the word!

Can I ban going to the library?

HAPPY 19th BDAY SAMMY!!
Today Sammy is Officially One Year Older!
And of course, a happy unbirthday goes out to everyone else!

Yesterday started out so crappily, then Maggie wanted to cheer me up, so of course, she took me shopping. Woot! We found a lot of really cute stores by just wondering downtown, curse the prices though! Nyways, after shopping I decided I really needed to get work done. I went to the library, which totally screwed me over b/c the books I needed were either already out, or not even very useful. Thus, I have to change my topic of my major essay - again! Ack! Damn English!
Then, when I finally went to take some books out from the library, the stupid buzzer went off saying that I stole something - which I obviously didn't, but it totally freaked me out! I have noticed that I have a lot of library related problems... I wish I could just never go there again... impossible.
Last night, as I was getting ready to go to bed, Maggie and Heather call me for an emergency makeover. They are already 19 + so they can get into clubs and bars in Ottawa. Nevertheless, Maggie needed my eyeliner... so I had to go over to Heather's a give it to her. I never even wear eyeliner, but apparently mine is pretty good - I only bought it b/c I figured that every girl needs one.

Of to the library again today... I hate those little adventures!

My heartbreaking story...

This morning I woke up around 8:30am and decided, why the hell not get up? There was no real point of sleeping in that I could find at the time, so I got up and went to the bathroom as usual. On my way back to my room, I noticed my white board had been "decorated" for me during the night. I suppose there must have been a drunken party that I slept through last night, although the halls were not as messy as they normally are the morning after. Nyways, by the word "decorate" I mean somebody had written truly mean and hateful comments in thick black marker all over it. Some of the comments were just cruel, and my board was literally covered with them. This really upset me but I didn't want to take it to seriously. So what if my door had been the only one targeted, I was better than the situation... I knew I would get over it. I decided just to leave it there and figure out what to do with it later. It was still too early to get some homework done or go to the library, so I started to watch "The Breakfast Club" while eating breakfast. Around 10:00am I noticed a small noise outside my room, as if somebody was poking at my door. I thought angerly that the person who committed the crime had come back to do more damage... however, it was actually a girl from my floor. I couldn't see what she was doing... so I quietly went back to finish my movie and waited the situation out. Finally I got up the courage to open my door and check it out... it was blank! The girl had probably seen it when she got up to go to the bathroom and decided it was not cool for me to have to see it, and so why not try to wipe it off before I wake up. If I had only slept in, I would never have known that someone defaced my board and that someone so kind had tried to hide it from me. I wanted to go up to her and thank her, or let her know that I thought so highly of her, but I can't say anything because then she will know that I knew and her little effort/good dead will have been for nothing.

As I sit here contemplating my morning, I remember all the times I had sent hate messages to people - some by letter, and others by email. I now truly know what it feels like. The feeling in the pit of your stomach is hard to get rid of. I mostly just wish I knew who did it. I can't think of a person on my floor who would actually hate me that much, seeing as how I try to stay invisible here. I say warmly hello and good morning to everyone I see, and I try to help them with their problems if I can, but I like flying under the raidar of my C.A. and prefer everyone just knowning the quiet little me who only ever asks for help with homework. I never cause trouble, like I kinda was known for doing in high school (french situation with Anne for exemple...). Here I'm just the innocent + shy little girl. Only one person on my floor - the girl who cleaned my board for me this morning - ever put effort into helping me get involved with the floor. Sure people talk to me all the time and are really friendly, but she actually invited me to a bunch of activities and came shopping with me... she was the only person who cared. She clearly has done her good deed today... now it's time for me to do mine.

Still Without Ice Cream - Are You Proud?

It's been about a week and a half since I officially declared a lent ban against it. I have never wanted it more than I do now! lol. I miss ice cream.

Right now, Maggie is over and watchin a movie - must love dogs. I am trying to get some work done, but I don't want to start my "rédaction"... I will eventually get it done though. I've got time.

2mora I plan on either doing this or doing research in the library or both, cuz they both sound super exciting, how will I ever choose. That will be saturday, then sunday I need to do my major essay outline... which is due soon and I'm totally screwed for and requires research. ack! That will literally take the whole day... cuz I want a kick ass essay... thus the plan must be awesome!

I am code, and you decode me!! (<-- my teacher said that and I liked it!!)

The Pencil Case... How I love thee!

My first class this morning went normally, but when I got to my second class I realized that I had left my pencil case in the first class. Oops! I totally freaked out, ran out of the class, ran half way across the university to go back to the other class where I walked in during a class, asked the students and teacher who were in their if they had seen my pencil case... no success. I was upset about my missing pencil case for a number of reasons... first of all I had an important part of my project inside it and if I had lost that I would be pretty screwed, secondly, it's not that the pencil case was all that pretty, but my friends from high school had all decorated it and therefore it has sentimental value. Thirdly, I would be seriously in lack of pretty pink pens if I did lose it. Nyways, so I called this girl in my class when I finally got back to the class I was suppose to be in... no answer. I was worried. It was hard to pay attention to the corrections of a midterm that the teacher was doing (only got 88% - one percent higher than last time - at least I can say that - damn linguistics). Finally I tried her again, and she told me she had picked it up, and that it was safe. I could breath again... ahh... safeness. Woot!!

Nyways, that was my morning. Then later I finally had my presentation, which went all right, the teacher thought my poster was really pretty and showed a lot of effort. I definitely talked to fast though... hard to be helped. At least my class was small... it really could have been a lot worse!! *smiles*

I can breath again!

I Did A Maggie Makeover!

I held Maggie hostage today. After hanging out with her for a while in my room, I decided to take drastic measures... I offered her hot chocolate, tons of computer time, chocolate, cheese, and a crazy makeup makeover with nail polish included... but eventually she did leave. Boo... what sadness. Although I was successful for many hours! Nyways, now I'm all alone in my room, with a crazy french presentation 2mora that is totally freaking me out. I just want to face the facts, I can't speak french and I can't do presentations!! Ack! I'm oh so clearly in the wrong program!

The Secret is Out!

To summarize for those who don't live in Ottawa, my friend Heather liked this guy... so eventually she told him this, but he didn't feel the same way. Later, Heather's close friend Ber ends up having a moment with him, and he admits that he likes her, and now they are dating, and Ber just told Heather this info a few hours ago. So basically Ber broke the girls code of never going out with their good friend's crush. Heather took it a lot worse than Ber predicted, and Ber thinks Heather is overreacting b/c she basically cut off all activities they share for the moment. Maggie is comforting Heather it seems b/c they see eye to eye on the situation. I on the other hand understand more than Ber seems to, but think that I would not have totally cut off the contact with my friend. I'm in the middle. It's such a complex situation b/c it all happened so soon... and Maggie and I have thoughts on the situation I wouldn't voice here.
If Heather cuts Ber out for too long, their friendship may never repair itself... and if Ber doesn't understand Heather's feelings, they are really screwed. It just sucks for Maggie and I b/c we are in the middle - especially her (Maggie seems to totally agree with Heather, and I really don't have a side, although it seems that I am taking Ber's side, which isn't necessarily true) - and it feels like we are the spokespeople for one of them.
So that's the latest gossip I bring to the table. I just know that I would have to have a better excuse than Ber's for dating my friend's ex-crush.

I'm Officially 18.5 Years Old!

Lately I have been totally obsessed about my half bday. I never celebrated it before, and usually let it pass without even noticing it. This year however, I have been so excited for now apparent reason. I don't understand it. Maybe I'm making up for my lack of an actual birthday b/c I didn't really do anything when I turned 18... except shop! Lol. Does that make any sense? No matters, it's a day of celebration... hope the caf will be open so I can get some cake! yummy!

BTW - the picture was taken last night instead of studying for my midterm... but I do think at least one part of it went pretty well :)

Off to be a study nerd. Ta ta et a demain mes lecteurs!

Post 202 - A Surprising Revelation!

Yesterday, before I went to Maggie's house, I decided my printer's black ink really needed to be changed. I used to think that there was no point of even trying myself to change it, but seeing as how I was alone, I figured I should at least try it before I call a guy to do it for me. Ya, there was a lot of struggling that occurred... but I eventually found the instruction (*the bible for doing manual labour*) and fiddled about with the cartridge... and I eventually was able to do the whole thing myself!!! Okay, you might say... that's just kinda sad Shannon. But I JUST discovered the surprising self satisfaction that occurs when you do something all by yourself! It is actually a pretty cool feeling.

Nyways, after that and some more studying - midterm 2mora! ack!! - Zoe drove Maggie and I to Maggie's house - lol, for once it wasn't me doing the driving! Maggie and I saw Sixteen Candles which is my new favoritest movie! A part from a few creepy lines, I think the geek in that movie is SOOO cute!!!! awww..... he is adorable!

Gotta go back to studying.

So Far I Have Kept My Lent Promise!

The only reason I didn't get as much work done as I planned is because I sent my info to my teacher for her to spell check/grammar check it before I put it on my poster, and she has yet to send it back. Otherwise I would be right on schedule for today. grr..... damn teachers and their procrastination! Lol.

Today I watched Bewitched. People said it sucked, and it kinda did, but I think the idea of the movie was really cool. A witch, pretending to be a normal person, who plays a witch pretending to be a normal person in a t.v. show. Insane! I have to admit, the old bewitched episodes could be funny sometimes.

A Day Of Embarrassment

Today was such an embarrassing day because I had lots of embarrassing moments, which seemed to get worse and worse as the day went on. To start off with, I didn't know an answer in French class when the teacher called on me, so I felt stupid and later realised that I knew the answer. That's not a big deal, but an embarrassing day has to start somewhere! Then latter today I went shopping with Maggie, and while we were on the bus, it suddenly jerked to a stop and I fell backwards a little to steady myself but ended up stepping the the foot of an old lady! (Clearly I am not meant to take public transit!). While at the mall we were in EB Games and I didn't know what a PSP was (I forgot at least), and the guy behind the desk must have thought I was really stupid for not knowing what it was. lol. No matters! We were also in Hallmark, and I asked them if they had any half birthday cards - but the lady didn't understand and thought I meant half of a card. LOL! (BTW - they don't sell them)... I tried to explain what it was, but I think I made a fool of myself. Also, there was a SUPER embarrassing event that happened in another store... but it shall be Maggie and my little secret! *wink*

Does hallmark sell half-bday cards?

My friend Ber planted the idea in my head that half bdays were really special. She claims that you deserve presents - although nobody buys people half b-day presents, this means you just have to spoil yourself. I LOVED the idea - obviously, b/c it involves shopping for myself! LOL! So I plan to do lots of shopping Friday night with Maggie. That is if I make it through my midterm in the morning. SCREW ENGLISH! Why can't I take frenglish?!?! I would soooo kick ass at that!

Schedule -
Today I had a midterm
Friday - midterm, then gym, then shopping.
Saturday - work on project (french one which involves a 15 min presentation)
Sunday - Study for Lingustics
Monday - gym, then more studying + form a study group for ling.
Tuesday - Linguistics Midterm + my half bday!!
Wednesday - finishing touches on project + gym
Thursday - present french project
Friday - shopping?

So that's what I'm up to this coming week. I doubt I'll go the gym as often as I plan, and I doubt I'll do as much studying as I plan, but I know i'll do more shopping then I plan. LOL!

P.S. So far this no ice cream thing is going pretty well. :)

Lent! - NO MORE ICE CREAM

Okay, as of today, we are in the church season of lent, which doesn't end until easter. When I lived at home, I always wanted to give something up for lent - which is what you are suppose to do - but I always felt afraid to tell my parents that I wanted to actually participate in something religious. I really can't explain the reasons for this, but it's behind me now - so it doesn't really matter. Anyways, now that I'm on my own, I can actually give something up, and hopefully not forget! I decided to give up ice cream for lent. This is going to be hard, b/c everybody loves ice cream... and Maggie is probably going to tempt me with it... cuz she really seems to love it, but now that she knows that I can't eat ice cream until easter, she hopefully will not.

I just have to remember that I can't eat ice cream for the rest of lent. lol - let's see how long that lasts... anyone wanna place a bet?
