Practicing my French...

Quel horreur! Mais c'était quand même amusant!
Aujourd'hui je n'ai rien fait. C'est la vie!

How is there a fire? IT'S RAINING!

When all my classes were over, I came back to rez and took a shower. Maggie came over and I spent quite some time straightening my hair. Then we went out for dinner at the caf (ohhh.... so exciting!! - lol). However, once we left, insane amount of rain.... like thunder storm of rain. We got soaked in a matter of seconds on the way back to rez. (Running to save my life, then I heard fire sires... and was like: how can there be a fire in this crazy rain!) SOOOO wet that everything I had planned to wear was soaked through.... and my beautifully straight hair got ugly again. meh. Ber and David made it over soon after.... totally soaked too. And later Heather came by... so the group of us headed over to Jon's party together. There we meet Val, John and Jon. Which involved music.... talking... and a out of control food fight (candy berries, popcorn, and chocolate kisses are now everywhere!) In all fairness... I wasn't responsible for anything... I only through stuff that people through at me! Later the was a game of charades.... it started off normal... but then it turned into butt charades, where you have to spell something out with your butt. lol... Sadly Ber and David had to leave afterwards so I had to go to let them back into my place. Craig and Maggie had both let too, so when we got back to Craig and my's place, we just sad around and talked until Maggie said she was hungry. We went to Zak's for ice cream.... the walk hopefully hoped to sobber up those two. Thanks Maggie for the ice cream!! Then we went back to Jon's party... which pretty much ended as soon as we had got back. meh... sleepover with Maggie... last night was awesome!

Post-Bday Post

Last night was very awesome. I finally got my bed... and it looks perfect. Lots more storage now... not like I really need it... but I'm sure I'll find a use for it. Maggie and I thought one of the movers was quite adorable... but probably too young for either of us. It's so sad how much older one day makes you feel. Anyways, after the bed movers left, Maggie, Craig and I went out to the expensive cake store... and bought some cake. Afterwards we had heard of a festival going on at parliament, so we went down to the hill to check it out. Got a space on the bleachers and watched a 30 minute light show where they displayed pictures and clips on the actual building - without a screen! It was really insane. I've never seen the building in a rainbow of colors... it looked sweet! Meh... then Craig and I went home and I got a call from Tacky just after 10. We talked for so long we used up all her long distance minutes and got cut off in the end. lol.... sadly we wouldn't be able to do that again for a while.

Today's classes were insane... and I definitely don't want to talk about them... that only relives how painful they were. ack! But in my last class today I met up with this women, who last school year seemed to have the perfect life.... she was a newly wed, with a new baby and a promissing life ahead of her... plus she is really pretty. Yet today it turns out she had a summer of hell. Which includes a crazy messed up divorce and so many other problems..... it's so sad.... abusive lying husband... I just felt so bad for her... she doesn't even have a phone or internet. I must say, I was shocked... I couldn't believe what was happening to her. It's weird how things can change so fast.... and how young I still really am.

Happy Birthday to ME!

Okay, that's not a very original title, but I am just in too much of a good mood to think. This day just keeps getting better and better. :) I awoke this morning to a text message from Maggie, (gee, i wonder what it said... lol.), then I went on the computer and got a birthday card from Sharon, and a poem from Robin (it was sooooooo good!! Thanx SOOOOO MUCH ROBIN! YOU ROCK!). Then I went to class and used the fact that it is my birthday to make a couple new friends. Except most of the class was spent writing some stupid test to see if we are good enough to be in that class. Anyways, I just came back to class to see two birthday wishes on Facebook (thanks Carolyn and Sammy [BTW- nothing in the mail yet... but i'll keep checking!])... and an e-card from Tacky! (But for some reason I can't access my voicemail right now... so I'll have to listen to your message later). I also got a personal email from Heather S. (thanks! ... and you so know I would never do anything you wouldn't do!). Plus I was just wished a happy birthday from my housemate. Woot! I love this day! There is nothing I love more than being wished a happy birthday! I've only been awake a few hours and yet I'm as happy as can be!

I just want to make this clear: I AM NOT CRAZY! Yes, I know you all told me that classes start on thursday... and I know that they technically do, but the university's website said that one of mine did start today. So went to class today and I was not the only one who noticed we were suppose to have class. Turns out FIVE other girls showed up, thinking that we do in fact have class. We waited... and waited... but no teacher. 30 mins after I got there, we decided to give up. Either our teacher got soooo lost (it was very hard to find), or the teacher assumed nobody would show up. Nevertheless, I went and so did 5 other people. Thus proving that I am not crazy! ... or that six of us are all insane.
~less than 10 hours until my date of birth.

I cannot believe it's only a day away!

Went to the museum of civilation yesterday with Craig. We were sad that neither of us had a camera... but I took a few pictures with my cell. Some exibits hadn't changed since the last time I was there (back in grade seven!) That's kind of pathetic.... but whatever. I had to admit that most fun parts were the postal services exibit (had mail boxes on display! lol.), and the children's passport to adventure exibit. In the postal one we had to do find some answers and fill in a word problem.... (the mystery word is stamp!)... and for that we each won a stamp! WOW! And in the children's section we had a passport and had to find a bunch of destinations... the special exibit was bernstein bears! That was by far the coolest room! We also went to the art studio and made clay sculptures. Craig made a cow (who's head later fell off! Haha!), and a smily face. I made an elephant but one of it's ears fell off and dried already, so I need to glue it back on later.
On another topic, I recently found found out that while school officially starts on my birthday (2mora), some classes start early. Thus... I actually have class in a couple of hours.... EW! Oh well... this one is in english, so I think i'll live... thursday and friday however are going to be a problem!
It's only a daaaaaaaaaaaay aaaaaaaaaa waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

Deux Jours! Dos Dias!

Yesterday was great! Started off by having breakfast with Craig... then going shopping for books (we both spent enough money on that!) We also went to the mall to visit Maggie.... and did some more shopping around town. I found out where my first class is tomorrow... and then we had kraft dinner together - the extra creamy kind! oh my! lol. Then I got the most surprising call ever! Tacky called me long distance! AWWWWW!!! There goes half an hour Tacky! I bet we could have used up all your long distance minutes with just one phone call! Anyways, I had to go because Maggie came over with a beautiful blanket for my room as a bday gift as well as a pair of cute pink earrings! All I have to say is that I'm a pretty easy person to shop for!! By then it was dinner time we (Craig and I) followed Maggie back to her new apartment. She made us hamburgers and we got to meet her sister... who appart from hating pink, reminds me of me. lol. Grape juice RULES! Then Craig and I missed our bus going home and instead of waiting the like 10 mins for the next one, we decided to walk back to campus. Which is only a 35ish minute walk at a brisk pace... Anyways, we made it back... without having to use the kettle as a weapon! Randomness.... school 2mora.... then birthday on thursday~

Trois Jours!

I just have to say that my room looks pretty cool. Might be the pink TV... or it might be the hanging jewels from my window... who knows. The funny thing is that last year I took down all my wall decorations and saved them for this year.... so basically my room looks like it did last year! It's just in a different shape now.... with different furniture... but I can still remember where I put each decoration last year.
I think this picture makes me look older. Like at least in my twenties. It's the first pic of me in my room... so maybe it reflex so sort of change and development in my character. There's something in my eyes that says "I'm almost not ready for this"... but then my hair says: "let's give it a chance".
When I told this guy at work about my upcoming birthday, he thought I would be turning twenty. Maybe I do look old or something. Meh! I'll be nineteen soon!

Cinq Jours!

Yesterday was pretty gosh-darn good. My nice old neighbour brought me a plant to add to my collection of plants for school... then at night my gps came over and surprised me for dinner with chinese food and cake. Yah! I'm quite happy to have racked up quite a bit of money so far.... excellent! I've also gotten some sweet gifts! My bro finished his painting for me which is a play on the painting called 'the scream' (I'm sure you know it!), except in my painting the guy is screaming and playing a green day guitar! INSANE! He also got me some clothes I had been eyeing for a while... and then there was le massive gift from my parentals. Let's just say it's pink and leave it at that. I'll be in Ottawa SOON! Adios!

7 days... spooky!

I feel like I actually want to go back to work tomorrow. I had such a good day today... but it was my last day there... for this summer at least. Everyone was so nice today... so many well wishes for school and life. Not that they are not nice normally, but everyone was really sad to see me leave. Even my supervisor, who seems a little cold most of the time, gave me a big hug and said she hoped I came back next year. Then when she realized I was planning on buying a plant for my rez, she told the cashier to give me double my regular discount! SWEET! It was such a small plant anyways, but I saved a few cents at least. Awwww!

When I came home my neighbour stopped by with a cake she had made specially for me! Not for my birthday or anything... just because she's going to miss me. Awwww! She's like a third grandmother to me or something... some people are just soooo sweet!

Tomorrow I'm going to spend the day packing... need to do a LOT of packing!
7 Days until school/my bday. Seven Days....

Long Day Yesterday!

Yesterday: Woke up at 4:45 am. Got ready for work and made it on time for 6:00am. The man who let me in and I were the only ones in the whole massive store at the time... and he decided to leave me so that he could get a coffee. (Makes me hate coffee even more!) Anyways, so I was all alone for like 30 mins in this huge store (I've never even seen the whole store yet). You can imagine how creeped out I was. Did I mention it's pitch black at 6:00 am? Well it is. I honestly thought someone else was going to pop out of the shadows... I was soooo scared! Meh.. I got the job done anyways and finally other people started arriving. When my shift ended I drove down to the movie theatre where I met up with Sharon... we did some shopping to kill the time... got some awesome deals (scarfs originally 14.99 each... got them for .99 each - I saved $14!! - lol... that's why I got two... but Sharon bought three!). Then we went back to the theatre and saw 'step up'. I don't think it was as good as other people said it was... but I loved the final dance. Then we did some more shopping until Henry (Sharon's bf) came to meet us for dinner. When he got there I drove to pizza hut (classy eh?). Good dinner with them... on Henry! He he! Finally it was getting dark so I wanted to go home and fall asleep... said my final goodbye to Sharon... then drove home. The End.

Happy Birthday Wishes!

Wow! Today is a big day for a lot of people! Happy birthday wishes go out to Ceri D (because she is so awesome and doesn't realize it!), and Anuj B. and Jon B.! I hope you all have a good night!

Awesome Way To End It!

Friday: Woke up early, drove to Tacky's house where I was surprised with an awesome birthday present for my room (Thanks again!). Then took her sibs out for Bowling. Micheal is just too good for us girls. Dropped them off, then Tacky and I went to my mall heaven of Vaughn Mills. (It's just so perfect there). We found a few good sales and bought a new outfit each. We spent quite a bit each actually. Then we went to the close mall and hung out until she had to go to work.

Saturday: Planned on going to see movie with some friends and then go for dinner... but then I started talking to Sharon and we decided to do some shopping first. We went to STC... but got bored quickly... so we went to IKEA to look around and have a cheap lunch (Thanks for paying!)... Then we went to a box-mall outlet center... got tons of good deals everywhere! (lots more cheap earings!) I'm so glad I went there before I go back to school. Then we went to FMP for some more shopping (cuz we missed the movie which we didn't really want to see anyways)... then met up with 2Celia, 2Jenny and Teri. Then we all went for dinner and met up with Tackie and Soukie at a japanese restaurant. I love those kinds of places... very yummy! Mmmm... bento boxs. After dinner we went to a pool hall I had never heard of, and played an hour of pool. Robin and Sharon were by far the best players. The two jennys and a celia may still be trying to hit a ball... lol. It was such a night to remember...

Sunday: Since my gma was up for the weekend, we went out for dinner (after a day of work) at a very posh restaurant. Tons of money wasted there... I think it's way to expensive... but still very yummy.

Only four more shifts until I done with that it! YAH!

What Happened to Summer? (scary pic!)

K, I come back from my weekend and I'm shocked about how little of a summer I have left. Fifteen days until the first day of school... and same until my birthday. Only six more shifts at work...

Today: Organize stuff... clean.... relax.... do nothing!
Thursday: Work
Friday: go out?
Saturday: go out?
Sunday - Thursday: Work
Friday: Pack
Saturday: Ottawa
Sunday: Ottawa

I'm happy my tattoo is still looking perfect.
P.S. Alice... I realized yesterday that my butt hurts from that canoe too...

Summation of my Trip

Friday: went grocery shopping with Tacky, picked up some candy, and bug spray along with some actual groceries. Dropped her off at work. Came home, pulled everything out of storage and started packing my suitcase of clothes and necessities. Called Janet out of fear that we didn't have enough space in my trunk for all our stuff. Picked Tacky up from work. Drove home for sleepover and watched a math movie called 'proof' with Tacky.

Saturday: Woke up really early and finished packing stuff. Woke up Tacky and had some breakfast. Then we left to pick up Janet and Doris. Stuffed everything amazingly into the car. Picked up Elyse and were able to fit everything in perfectly! We said goodbye to the crummy gta and headed north to Algonquin to do some camping! We only had to stop once for lunch and cuz I got tired of driving. So we pulled over in Huntsville, little did we know that it was their festival weekend and they had a huge sidewalk sale all down their main street along with inflatable rides for little kids and a huge band. We did some shopping and left our mark on the sidewalk in chalk. Then we were doing some photo time and this newspaper lady came over to take our picture and wanted to hear about our camping trip. But ours had only started so she left without a story but a lame photo instead. We had a docknic (lunch on the dock) then left huntsville and drove to out campsite. Set up the tents quite well and ended the day with some beach volleyball... and smores over a campfire!

Sunday: Woke up several times during the night because of all the rain we had gotten... thus Elyse was drenched in wetness, and I was soaked too... the others we just a little wet. So we ended up getting up really really early and spending some time trying to dry everything off. Janet got bumbed out cuz she had wanted to try kayaking but it was still raining a lot. So we decided to go for a drive. We ended up in a small town named Brancroft were it was also their festival weekend. This was an art festival and as were headed over we were greeted most friendly by a guy who explained what was going on and was so happy to have some visitors. We finally got away from him and looked around the park and some people's art work. We even entered our names into a draw... not like they would ever send the prize down to us though. lol. Then we took a little buggy ride to the other side of the park were we looked around. Alice and I got paint tattoos (which are still 100% in tack)... and the lady who did Alice's was actually a famous painter! I got the word dream in Chinese on my arm and Alice got a butterfly on her back. lol... the girl who did mine kept saying the word "tacky"... I was laughing very much inside. Our tattoos are water resistant and very sparkly! I have no idea when they will come off. Anyways, then we walked over to see Alice's tattoo ladies art gallery which was insane looking! She was really really good! Then we headed back to the campsite... were we dried some more things off. Doris made grilled cheese sandwiches for us. Then we decided it was a good time to go kayaking and canoeing... so we did that; Janet, Elyse and Doris tried out Kayaking and Alice and I were in a canoe. We did that for a few hours then headed back to the campsite for dinner. More drying off things under the dryer in the girls washroom while the others tried to make a fire. Didn't end up having dinner until like 11:00... but it was really really yummy!

Monday: Woke up much later... fairly dry but still a little wet. Janet and I washed our hair with the cold tap. Packed everything up... which took a while. Had lunch on the beach and played more beach volleyball. Ball went into the lake quite a few times but brave Janet rescued it. Then we headed home. Stopped randomly to get pictures with some signs. Then my gas sign came on and Janet and I got a little worried that we would never make it to a pump. I think we made it just in time! We made a stop in Orillia... a town I don't think I want to go back to ever again. It was quite deserted... and the people who were there freaked us out a bit. We visited the soon to be Lakehead campus in Orillia... which was probably the only cool thing about that town. Anyways, then we headed home and people were amazed at my geography knowledge of York. We all made it safely and our parents we very glad to see us.

Oh ya, and I took 204 pictues to prove all of this!

Maggie's One Year Older...

HAPPY BDAY MAGGIE!!!!
To my dearest ottawa shopper, have a happy 24th birthday! I hope you have an awesome day without me! Miss Ya & Luv Ya! See you soon!

Hey Maggie, this is a special little message just for you: You ROCK! You may not think today is very special, but today is your day. Treat yourself to something special... is that cookie place open during the summer? lol. Those were our special cookies... yummy... or maybe that desert place we discovered at the end of the year... Anyways, I obviously cannot be there today, but we are going to celebrate both our bdays soon enough. And we'll have a whole school year to do tons and tons of shopping.... So... once again.... have a very very happy birthday!

~Shannon.

Evil Side of Charity

After my orthodontist appointment today I started baking. I had told this girl last week at work that I would submit some baking for our charity bake sale this week. Honestly, I only said I would because it's my old English teacher (for like four years)'s daughter. Plus, I secretly hope that I will show up with way better baking then she does. That's why I made 92 cookies today. Of course I ate a bunch myself and kept some for my family... so I'm really only bringing 80 cookies... which is still quite a few. So really I turned this charity event into a secret competition.... that sounds exactly like me! lol. The funny part is that I don't even know which charity it is. Some dude or something like that. I frankly don't even care what it's for... you'll probably never see me do any charity/volunteer work unless it's a competition of some sort. Don't know why I need to prove myself all the time... I just know it's always a war with Ry and I.... and he never cares if he wins or not... so that's frustrating. - Counting down the hours til I see him again! ta ta!

Not On My Day Off!

I wake up, like most terrible mornings, to the sound of my phone ringing. I answer it and hear a midaged man asking for me... and I get very confussed. Turns out it's this guy from work and he wants me to come in and water the stupid flowers for some reason. I'm like "FUCK!" Luckily I have a orthodentist appointment in the middle of the day that got me out of that. It's my day off, and I really don't want to go into work today... ack!

Missin' Ry...

Yesterday was a bad day, so I don't want to talk about it... not related to what happened, it was also the last day I saw Heather for the summer... and probably for quite some time... possibily almost a year from now i'll see her again. meh... I hope she has a good time at school and doesn't get hurt some more this year! lol.

I'm still thinking and reliving that garden party two days ago. It went better than I could have dreamed of. Trust me... best time with family since I can remember! And I realized it was all cuz Ry wasn't there.

Speaking of Ry, i'm really starting to miss the kid. He better come back safe... with lots of souvenirs pour moi! ha ha! But in fact, I don't like it that he's out of the country travelling all around the globe. First of all, that should be me... I'm the one who was meant to go everywhere. And secondly, that kid had a bad travel record... he gets sick all the time... how is here ever going to survive l'Afrique? He's just a KID!

Back to the garden party... at one point I was chatting with my gma and she was like... "oh... what happened to my drink? I must have left it on that table I was just at... shannon, could you go get it for me?" So I get up, walk across the garden to where she was sitting before and picked up her drink... all of a sudden I realized all eyes were on me... as if they thought it was my drink or something... so i made a point to quickly bring it back to my gma and say loudly "here YOU go!" lol.

I Actually Enjoyed it!

Just got back from el garden party. I was really dreading it... especially this year without Ry by my side. I was expecting a billion questions about school... which I got... but this may have been the first year I wasn't totally bored out of my mind. It's quite nice hanging out with older people once in a a while. I used to think Ry was my scapegoat... but now I realize he was just pulling me down all these years. Or maybe I finally have reached that age where people actually start paying attention to me and believe that they can have an intellectual conversation conmigo. Either way, tonight was totally different from every other family gathering I have been to. It was interesting to say the least. And I actually loved talking to my cousins. Yes they are at least ten - fifteen years older than I, but I have always liked to talk to them... you could say we even got along and were friendly tonight. I got invited down to one of their house's and my aunt and I had a conversation I never wanted to end (the cool t.v. aunt that is). She's really cool... but when I was complaining to her about my life she just thought I was cute. I suppose everyone complains about the same things when they are a certain age... so to her I was just being a kid... Anyways, I have to admit I actually had a good time...... Wow, that just feels weird to say. I'm growing up.

Eye Devil

Tomorrow's plans: wake up... breakfast... do chores... have shower... do nails, hair, makeup, and coordinate clothes... have lunch... go to Elyse's *je ne blague pas!*... hang out with her and Doran... go to grandmother's garden party (if you call it a bbq, she'll kill you!)... talk to old people and family I don't care about... play with darcie... make up lame excuse to go home... make lunch for work on sunday.... end day.

I went to the eye devil *cough* I mean eye doctor today. Yes... I hated it! (Tacky: je n'ai pas pleuré beaucoup, may il y avait des lames dans mes yeux.... et j'avais l'air d'une personne qui allait pleurer éventuellement. J'avais tellement peur!! - i'm sure that message would be super easy to translate.. but it's just for Tacky!). But my doctor said I don't need new glasses... but the ones I have are like old... so he said I might want to get some anyways. I happen to think the ones I have are good enough... so i'm sticking with my old pink ones for a while longer.

My t-shirt reads: Your Favourite Blonde

Lots of people have very rational fears of spiders, snakes, and creepy looking insects, as do I... but there is one fear I have that very few people have. I guess I'll just come out and say it: I'm afraid of the eye doctor! I'm telling you, they are pure evil! It's not that I'm afraid of them testing my eyes, or have a fear of getting glasses (I already have little pinks ones that I never use), for me, the worst part about the eye doctor is the one thing that seems so small and simple. I HATE the little puff of air the blow in your eyes. It scares me! I'm not going to go into detail, but I tend to freak out when I know it's coming. Tissues are needed.

I was suppose to go to the eye doctor today, but it got moved a few days... so we will see then if I am going to be getting new glasses. I don't think I really need them... except for driving at night and seeing the blackboard in class, but I haven't gotten any in at least two years. meh.

Screw you eye doctor!!... why does that blow test have to exist?!?

This pic is from this morning when I wanted to blog again but it wouldn't load. grrr... oh well, wouldn't want two posts too close together! meh. I was going to make this really cool post about what I was planning to do 2mora, but all plans are up in the air now b/c I had to cancel one thing. grr... it ruined everything! And it was the one thing I didn't want to do! lol. Well, I guess it's okay that it got moved to another day... didn't want to do it, and now i don't have to for at least another week! sweet!

Less then one month of work left! YEA! Excited that school's coming soon! Hoping my bro will come home soon!

Finally the House to Myself!

My bro is on his trip around the world, and my parents have finally gone back to work after their (far too long) vacation... and today I finally have a day off. This might be the first day this summer where I have the house all to myself. That's quite sad actually. But I really rather enjoy it. I can do whatever I want! I might bake a cake or something... lol. Who knows!

HEY SALUT TOI!

My mom's old friend from her uni days came over for dinner today. He greeted me with big "Hey salut toi!" (meaning: "Hey you!"). And I stood there going: "CRAP! That's FRENCH!". I just kinda said as little as possible as he asked me a ton of questions about school in french. I was like "WHOA!" - totally blown away by a sudden burst of french. Not looking forward to my tons of french classes this fall.... uh oh!

Dead Mouse Finds Home

Today a customer at work approached me and told me that she had found a dead mouse in one of our pots. Sure enough when I went to check it out it was there... so where some flies... gross! I called a brave male coworker to get rid of it for me... and even he needed a couple long sticks before he would go near it. The pot chosen by the mouse to die in was in fact one of the ugliest we have. If I had been the mouse, I would have chosen a much prettier pot, instead of a boxish mustard-color one. eeewwwwwwwwwwww! lol. Imagine the mouse hadn't been color blind though. What would make him/her choose that one? The whole thing got me thinking about the choise of where to die.

It all happened in slow motion.

Weirdest thing just happened! I was driving home in my little hick town down some really random hick street and I see this old guy (like 60ish) on one of those motor scooters. It's a three way intersection and he is crossing the road the way I want to turn so I just wait for him to make it to the other side before I advance. The old guy tries to get back onto the sidewalk but instead of going up where it is low, he tries to go over to curb. Motor Scooters don't go over curbs! Anyways, so the thing tobbles over ontop of him... and he falls to the ground right beside my car. I'm quite shocked. So I turn of my car and run over to him asking if he is okay. He was a nice guy so I helped him lift his scooter up so he can get back on it. Then this lady who was driving the same way I was sees why my car is stopped at the intersection and gets out to help me. Awwww.... Anyways, the guy is okay, nothing broke at least! But as the lady and I were helping him some other truck comes down the street (it's not normally even this busy) and just speeds right past us. How rude! meh. Everything worked out. The old guy learned not to try and go up a curb and I did a good deed. poor dude!

P.S. Hope you are having fun on vacation Tacky! Your last night here was so much fun!!

Yesterday's Plans

Yesterday there was a meeting for a trip my friends (and I) are planning. So drove down to Janet's house, met her mom and new puppy (soooo cute!). Her mom gave me a cherry, but once I ate it I didn't know what to do with the seed and stem. Janet thought I was sooo polite to her mom, I am probably way to sweet and fake around parents, but I like being on their good side. Anyways, so Doris came soon after and we drove through insane rain down to Elyse' house. Turns out she has all this equipment stored in her basement and all these plans from previous trips - quite useful! So we sat around for over an hour planning and laughing at each other's differences. Seems quite well planned and should all work out. *smiles*

Half A Head Of Insane Curls...

I'm still a little sick.... my nose is quite stuffed up... but at least I made it to work yesterday! I still can't believe I ever missed a day of work b/c of an illness. Anyways, before work I had a shower but was still not feeling that great so I got my hair done for me in braided pigtails. *awwww* lol. I don't think I have ever kept any braids in all day and over night. Well, look at my hair now... that's what you get! Of course it looks crazy curly now, but give it a few hours and the curls will relax and then my hair will be perfectly wavy. Trust me that I didn't plan to have good hair today. A day that could turn out quite awkward. meh... we shall see what happens... maybe it's for the best.
ta ta!

sickie...

I woke up with the most painful throat ever... I wasn't scheduled for work until later in the day, so I tried to take it easy this morning. I stomach started to feel really bad. I had to make a choice of whether or not to go to work today. I'm one of those people who always goes to school no matter how sick I am. There were many days I should not have gone to school, but I did anyways b/c I hate missing classes. I view work similarly... I don't think I should skip work unless it's really bad. Trust me, I can barely talk today.... i'm sick!

My house happened to be out of ginger ale (my drink of choice for when i'm sick). My mommy had to go out and buy some for me... which reminded me of the last time i was remotely this sick... back in otown when Maggie went to the campus store to buy me a lot of ginger ale! Only I was much sicker then. mmmmm.... ginger ale!

So, I don't know if you heard, but Lance Bass (from NSYNC) has officially said that he is gay. lol - what a shocker! Now i'm just waiting for a BSB member to make the same statement.... Lance was always the cutest one... that's just how life is.

Night Out

My parents are infamous for dinner parties. Frankly I hate hanging out with their friends... and especially their friends' kids. ick! Ry and I tend to stick together in such cases. But when the party includes some of his good friends, my mom told me I was aloud to escape from the dinner party for the first time! So ya, I got to go shopping with Sharon instead of another boring dinner party!! YES! We went to awesome far mall and planned to have dinner there.... but the restaurant closed to early so we drove back into her town and had dinner at Pizza Hut. Not to classy I know, but still cool. After that we went to the park and walked around... talking insanely about a certain topic... lol. We placed a call to her bf Henry asking him to answer some questions... but we were laughing so much that he thought we were drunk... so we went along with the charade to amuse ourselves. I think we were pretty convincing... especially for two people who have little experience being intoxicated. meh. Good times at the park!

Last Night...

Last night was awesome! HAPPY 19th BIRTHDAY SHARON!!! I haven't gone out for like the longest time... I so needed that! I work too much and never have fun anymore. I feel so old cuz I never have fun... I'm like a grown up! eeewwwwwwww.....

Anyways, after working pretty much the whole day yesterday I went to pick up Alice. Then the two of us went shopping for gifts for Sharon. Gotta luv shopping! We got some cute stuff and then went back to Tacky's house to put them in pretty bags and make a card. Our card was super cool!! Yah for glitter glue!!! - don't worry... it was very tasteful and pretty!! Then we met up with everyone else... got to meet Henry (her bf!)... he's cool. Went out for dinner and bubble teas as a group of nine. That didn't end until like eleven o'clock... it took us for ever to decide where to go next and who would be going in which vehicle where... oh the confusion! meh. So we went for kareoke again! When you have chinese people who can't read chinese (thus can't really sing chinese songs well) you always end up going for lame white songs... lol... christina aguilera, vanessa carlton... and of course: the spice girls!! Meh... so I didn't get home until like 2:30am. Turns out my parents had locked me out of the house! Not on purpose actually... but I'm so lucky to have brought my key with me! Arrg... I can't believe it! Anyways, so I totally woke up my parents... and my mom was pretty pissed. I haven't seen her since 2:30am this morning... I can only imagine how painful it's going to be when she gets home from work.... good times ahead I am sure.

Work Consumes Me

I hate working when it's hot out. Lately it has been really really hot... and thus I am really really lazy at work. I should be doing so much more, but the heat makes me tired too... so really I just wander around looking for small jobs that need to be done and hoping that I don't get in trouble for not doing anything. meh... it's just too hot! Yesterday I had a crazy long shift! So long that I ran out of all my juice and had to actually drink water! (you all know I'm a juice person!) That was hard... but otherwise I would have died. Today I worked quite a bit too! Not fun at all! Although I love my coworkers! They are so nice! *smiles for people in my department* So long shifts combined with the heat as made work my life. I come home simply to sleep enough to make it through the next day. Lately I have found that nine hourse of sleep isn't enough... I want more sleep but I just can't find the time! arrrggg.... I wonder if I'll ever make it through the summer... can't wait to be back at school... I wish I could stay in school my whole life and never ever work again!

Post About Not Shopping!

I was watching TV and this person said that people only shop to fill a void they have in their lives. Apparently people think that if they buy more they will feel better. They are addicted to shopping and have a need to buy stuff. That got me thinking... am I addicted to shopping? I bet you could make a strong case for that, but I would definitely have to say that I am not! Shopping is just a pass time I enjoy a lot! This morning I was planning to go shopping before work, and I didn't! Okay... i realize that mostly in part of laziness and all the rain... but fact is I didn't HAVE to go... thus I am not addicted! Plus, whenever I do shop, I don't always buy stuff... and there is no void to fill! Don't try to psycho analyze me! There is nothing wrong with shopping!

Two Days Off... did nothing!

What have I been up to lately? WORK! It's really annoying cuz I don't have the awesome life I had in may. I'm no longer shopping that much (although I did shop two days ago with Tacky + Sammy... and a little this morning with my bro...) Anyways, I'm just super tired after work and thus go strait home. When I talk to my friends I realize how much awesome summer time I am missing... I haven't gone swimming in like three weeks... sad sad... that's upsetting! lol. Yesterday it rained like crazy so I never even left the house... and today I only drove around town. Arrrgg.... i feel frustrated that I haven't gone anywhere cool. meh. gas is too expensive anyways. lol.

Anyways, got to work 2mora... good times i'm sure. Hopefully I'll have fun next weekend for Sharon's bday... soooo want to go see P of the C 2... I heard it was sooo good! Insanity that a sequel does so well ... eh?

So I don't follow soccer... but at work they give us major game updates... as for sunday's game, i don't think that was necessary... I could hear the honking and the flag waving all night. Je voulais tellement que la France gagne... plusieurs personnes ont pensé que la France était le meilleur des deux mals. lol. I guess I could see that.

Interests

I never really thought my interests were that bad. I enjoy blaring my Green Day music and shopping at regular teen clothing stores... but lately I feel like my parents are either also into the same things as me (eeewwwwww...) or are using so psychological effort to get me to change my interests. First off, when I was blaring Boulevard Of Broken Dreams last night while doing my hair, I turned it off when I was done and my mom asks me why I turned it off, cuz it's a good song... I'm like, I know it's a good song, but you are not suppose to like it! grrrr... Secondly, my dad, although he has always shopped at stores for youth as opposed to old-dad-type-stores, came home (after alice called me to tell me about the awesome sale) and told me that there was an awesome sale at the mall. Turns out he bought all this stuff from Bluenotes! NOOOO!!!! Plus he shops at AE all the time! WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THIS WORLD? ggrrrrrr.... so my dad likes my clothing stores and my mom likes my music.... that's not suppose to happen!!

We all know what a shopper I am. So when both Tacky and my dad told me about the sale (especially at bluenotes) my mom drove me to the mall and we went shopping there that night... I had to work the next day, but you can be sure that I went back after work to see if I could find anything else.... lol... sadness! We did buy a lot of stuff too... yah!

The Lazy-Brilliant Kind

I kinda knew I had made 'the list' by looking at my grades and such but today I received a letter from my school informing my that I made the all important, prestigious 'Dean's Honor List'. I'm sure some other readers probably made the list too, but considering that my study habits have not changed since high school, some of you might be shocked by such news. I think my ottawa friends found me to be quite a bit studious and nerdy. Yet compared to my GTAer friends, I hardly ever study and probably seem like a total slacker... a slacker that shops A LOT! lol. There are probably a few people out there who wouldn't think I would make this list and doubt that I ever made the honor role in school, and there are probably others who would never have doubted this accomplishment and think I'm a workaholic. Whichever view you have taken in the past probably needs some fixing. The truth is that I am both a super studious nerd and a lazy dumb blonde.

Graduation

Fellow high schooler friends, one year ago on today, june 29th, we graduated from PETHS.
Is this where you thought you would be? It may have only been one year, and i'm pretty much happy with the past 360 something days... Call me in another year and we'll see if i'm still as pleased.

I had this really wacky idea a few days ago about how I wanted to spend tonight. I thought it would be super awesome if I reinacted what we had done a year ago tonight, with the same people of course. (aka bubble tea, games, and bowling). My thought was that every year on june 29th, we do that and thus we could be starting a little tradition. Cool plan... except that I have to work 2mora, and staying out that late isn't a good idea. Plus nobody else has gone for the plan and I can't even remember everyone I hung out with that night.

Happy one year anniversary of graduation!

The Luckiest Magic Frog

Today at work, I was carrying some plants down an aisle and thus couldn't really see the floor. In the middle of this aisle, little did I know, was something about the size of a pop can, but much softer. I accidentally kicked it with my foot (remember, I couldn't see it cuz of the plants in the way). I happened to kick it right into my path again and then accidentally stepped on it with my other foot. It made a crack! WAIT - WHAT! I turned around and there was a squished frog. I figured it was just some dead frog so I keep walking down the aisle because my plants are heavy and I planned to come right back to remove the frog from the middle of the aisle. But as I am walking away, I see the flat frog re-inflate itself. Gross! I think nothing of it, but when I come back to move the dead frog, it turns out to be alive and I see it hop off under one of the stands. Somehow, either kicked, stepped on and flattened frogs don't die, or this was a magic frog that is now pissed at my attempt to take it's life and is plotting to come after me.

After the frog incident I was more than a bit jumpy. I made sure I could always see the path infront of me, and that it was clear of any frog like shapes. lol. There are lots of birds around but when I saw one after my frog incident it made me jump like crazy cuz i thought it was a jumping frog. ah!

30 years ago today...

Happy Anniversary CN Tower!
The CN tower is 30 today!

Day Off!

Good morning! This weekend seemed to go by so fast. Saturday I had to work all day, and then Sunday I hung out with my grandmother downtown. She bought me lunch out and then we did some shopping (guess were i got my love for that from... lol.) Annoyingly she really wanted me to pick out something that I liked for her to buy me, but there were no really good stores around and I couldn't find anything both grandmother approved and that I liked... by the end she got really tired of me being so picky so she sat at the front of the store and set me loss to pick something out... instead I called Tacky, as I wandered though the store, and asked her what I should do. lol. In the end I went back to her and told her I didn't find anything. I don't think she was too happy about that.... meh... we went back to her place and hung out with my aunt's dog.

I have discovered something while working about different races. Before I say the following, I don't intend to be racist and I realize there are always acceptions to the rules, but it just seems that a lot of people from the same race act the same. Okay, so I have noticed that asian people will rarely ask me a question if I am looking down or am really busy. When they do ask me, they are always super sweet and patient. If I don't know the answer, they don't want me to do more work to find the answer for them, they tell me that they will find out for themselves. The only problem with asians is that are the hardest to understand. (ex: 'strubury tee' = Strawberry bush, and 'roosebury' = raspberry). Middle eastern people are totally different, they are more agressive and get so mad at me if I don't know the answer. They expect a lot more from me and seem in such a hurry. Caucasians and african americans are in the middle... some caucasians can be really difficult but others are very pleasant. meh... these are just my thoughts... ta ta!

My Thumb isn't Green!

I highly doubt that i'll ever have a green thumb since gardening isn't exactly my greatest passion... and it's FAR from a forte, but yesterday after work I bought a fuchsia flower. They are annuals (thus don't come back the following year) and I'm still trying to figure out is they like the sun or the shade more. Anywys, the picture beside is exactly how my plant looks, only probably not as healthy... it only has two blossoms on it. I call my plant 'fuchsia baby' cuz i wanted to give it a name, but not actually name it since it's not an animal. lol. Fuchsia Baby is the first flower I have officially bought for myself, although I have been given many little trees as a child that have all died. I don't know if I have what it takes to take care of Fuchsia Baby, but we shall see.

I like to SLEEP

mmmmm... lately life has been a lot about work. Wake up, go to work, come home, sleep, wake up, go to work, come home, sleep.... Amazingly I am getting the least amount of sleep ever. Honestly, I am soooo tired from waking up at 4:45am every day!! I just can't get my regular 8-10 hours of beautiful sleep since going to bed around 9:00pm is just sad - plus it's still light out and that just doesn't help (lol - tacky! It's not even dusk!)

Anyways, today is a day off from work. It feels great being able to sleep in all the way to nine o'clock! (techincally that's four hours more than usual, thus it seems crazy!) wow... my like is pathetic! But i'm not going to think about that. Today is about laughing in my bro's face b/c he has an exam (it's exam week for h.s.ers)... nawwww... not really. It's about doing absolutely nothing! I'm not even shopping today! (*gaps*) - scandelous, I know. But maybe i'll go work on that tan! ta ta!

Recent Philosophizing

My cherished readers,
Lately I have had many thoughts about the world I would like to share with you. First of all, when you make a mistake (me and paws' accident) there is a lot of trouble involved in making up for it, but it is worth it and needs to be done in order to move on.

Secondly, I have learned from working so far that shopping is not for everyone. I was meant to shop in life, and I love it so much, but some people out there (mostly guys) were not meant to be shoppers. This is fine b/c not everyone can be a shopper and live like myself. I'm just saying that those who are not shoppers, should not harass the innocent workers of a store for something they have little control over. If you are not meant to shop... DO IT ONLINE!

Thirdly, shopping is so much more than spending money and looking at clothes/accessories(...). When I shop, I learn so much from my friends. We share secrets we have learned, we tell each other about our lives, and we philosophize. We come to terms with how the world works by hearing the stories of others and relating them to our own. Thus shopping really is so much more than I make it seem, it's a revelational experience (at least for myself). Today I went shopping with Sharon at super awesome far mall (VM). Only bought a tank top and lunch, but she helped me come to terms with some stuff and I hope I helped her in a small way too.

♥Paws♥

Yesterday was one of the lowest days ever. I hurt the only thing I ever loved. Now it's going to cost me thousands of dollars to fix it. I admit that it was 100% my fault. I can't believe I scratched her up so badly. I'm so sorry paws, please forgive me. If I try to fix you, can we put it in the past and pretend that it never happened? I'm soooooo low right now.... you just sit there glaring at me... I can't afford to fix you right now... I don't know what to do. The damage will never go away, even when I fix it, I can't forget hurting you. I love you paws!

How Early Did You Wake Up?

My first week was evil! I worked 10 hours a day. This week of work isn't so bad, only 8 hours per day. It actually seems like nothing right now. lol. Today was my first eight hours and by the end, I was like, "wow! I get to come home so soon!" YES! However, this shift means I have to start my day earlier. Really REALLY Early!!!! I start work at six a.m!! Meaning I have to be awake by at least four fifty. THAT'S INSANE! I'm sooo not a morning person! All I have to say is that at least there is like no traffic at that time... lol. So yah, I work from six until two. Meaning I get off at a good time but I have to wake up while it's still kinda dark. not too cool. meh.

*insert your fav. swear word here!*

K, so my parents really wanted me to get a job. I half tried, mostly to have something to do, cuz trying meant I could go shopping at the same time. I never thought that any of my attempts would actually lead to anything. Curses! Now I have a job and have to do manual labour! Like seriously!*insert your fav. swear word here!*. I knew I needed a job to pay for my lifestyle, but I was so happy not having one and being able to do whatever I wanted whenever I wanted to. ggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... I guess bad things do happen b/c of 666. lol. All I have to say is that I'm working now and I'll actually have to make plans around this. meh. At least now I'll have money to waste if I decide to go down to Montréal with my m-ham friends.
I CAN'T BELIEVE I ACTUALLY GOT THE JOB!

Going Through Old Films...

If I wrote an entry every single time I went shopping, some of you would probably die of boredom or would be seriously freaked out about me. While I have been keeping up with my shopping habits, I just haven't been writing down each adventure.

Lately my bro and I have been looking through all these old movies that my parents made from 1992-1996 with our old camera. They feature footage of us at school concerts, major holidays and birthdays, or just on vacation. The picture on the side is of me (with my bro in the back) in 1994 on Christmas eve as we were headed down the stairs to leave out milk & cookies for Santa and a carrot for his reindeer. When I found this particular part of the film, I stopped it and realised how little I really changed. My hair is like in the exact same style, although it was much more naturally blonde back then. lol. To me at least I look the same, just older now. Ry on the other hand looks completely different! Whatever though! I thought you just might like to see an older pic of me instead of what I look like at this second.

Toes

Last night it rained like crazy. Total thunderstorm! In fact, my power was out for two full hours and the TVs + Internet wouldn't work for another 1/2 hour after the power came back on. The power went off at dinner time so that gave us something to do, but afterwards I noticed my laptop was low on batteries, and I didn't run it dry, so I asked my equally bored bro to do my nails for me. That was the second time he ever did my nails. The first time was years ago, after I had promised to show them to my friends cuz they looked so cool, but sadly I kept forgetting to so he never wanted to do my nails. My bro's a little artist, the picture doesn't show how cool they are. Some are purple with yellow stripes, and every other ones are turquoise with red dots.

Today I had a job interview with a garden center. It went pretty well I guess. Although he had a thick chinese accent and I didn't catch certain words. Some of the questions were hard but I survived. I think I have a fair chance at getting the job.

I'm Blonde!

Yesterday when I was at Heather's, I took off my Alice-made bracelet (the one I always wear - *pink + blue*) to put on some sunscreen. Not smart cuz I left it there when I left... when I got home I freaked out!! I thought I had lost it... I called Heather like a million times to see if she could find it... finally I got through and she brought it over to me... *thanx*. That's sadly not the first time i lost it. During the school year I left it in my common room. I had taken it off to do some dishes and then I left it on the shelf all night... I was shocked when I woke up the next morning and found it there... I can't believe nobody stole it. After these two instances I now consister it my lucky bracelet! I don't remember when or why Tacky made it for me, but thank you! lol. Only a true blonde could write a whole entry about a bracelet. te he.

Blondie For The Summer!

Woke up early, read some more of The Da Vinci Code, then Heather called at 8:00am and told me we had a hair appointment at nine. Jumped out of bed, had a 5 minute shower, drove my bro to school, picked up Heather, and made it down to the hair dresser... we were actually early! lol. We both went shorter and blonder. Our hairdresser was totally typical... talk talk talk... lol. Anyways, afterwards we went for lunch - cuz we spent over two hours there... after lunch war shopping... lots and lots of shopping... only bought two things. It was a good day though... even if it's still unbelievably hot!!

Monday, May 29, 2006

It's SOOOOOOOOOOO HOT!!!!!

ack! I'm not used to this weather... and this is exactly why I like it better when it's cold than when it's hot. It's hot, and I can't do anything about it. Since there is that major transportation strike in the city, my parents don't really want me to leave the house and especially not to go out of town b/c if I go south it's simply pure chaos. You wouldn't be able to tell just by looking at my town cuz it seems totally normal here. Damn rich people who never use the transportation. I doubt anyone here knows about the strike, and it certainly doesn't affect very many people, only those who work downtown.

Anyways, last night was cool. Heather called me from her work, told me she and Sammy were planning to go to second cup later... Turns out Sammy had text messaged me the day before inviting me out but I hadn't had my phone on cuz I was at home most of the time. Anyways, so I drove down to 2nd cup and met him, then Heather got there and the three of us road tripped down to Tacky's house. Picked her up, drove back to 2nd cup, had some drinks, went to the grocery store and the three of them bought Pringles (Alice and Sammy's were riddle ones for kids - lol - soooo cool! "What's bigger, the sun or the moon?!?!?!" lol.). Then we drove down to the park and walked around the bug infested circle thing... Later went to Michelle's house but she wasn't home. Then Robin found us and the five of us stood around the parking lot talking for like forever. Sadly I had to leave first and don't know how their evening ended.

In other news, I'm more than 1/2 of my way through the Da Vinci code. I didn't want to read it b/c I felt like I was doing it b/c everyone else was, but I'm now just reading b/c it was recommended by so many. And I'm still only three capters into Oliver Twist... lol, I do plan to finish it... honestly!

Guess I'm stuck here until the transportation is running again... if you're bored and want to head north i'll come... just not aloud to go south.... grrrrrr.....

Seeeee My Hair IS Long!! lol

Today was rainy so my bro woke me up and convinced me to drive him to school. That was pretty early in the morning... but I started baking once I got back home. First I made a yellow cake. It's pretty big (2 layers, the bottom layer is huge!)... then I made brownies! yummy!! Later iced the cake (bottom layer blue, top layers white and too runny - lol). Then met Tacky after her interview (congrats Alice!!) and did some speed shopping. Didn't buy anything... but hadn't seen her in soooooooo long, thus I had to go! The picked up my bro from school - cuz the deal was he would clean up all my baking mess if I did. When my mom got home she fixed Tacky's bag for her... - my mommy's so kind to me! But when my daddy got home, even though I'm grateful that he was doing something for me too, we somehow got into another huge argument + screaming... I guess we are too much alike to get along...

Whatever Randomly Comes To Mind:

Pjs are soooo comfortable... I never feel like getting dressed anymore. I obviously have to some days when I want to go shopping, but whenever I want to just stay home, I'd prefer to stay in my comfy pjs as long as possible. There really is no reason to get dressed as soon as I wake up anymore.

K, I think I need a summer haircut soon. My hair is kinda getting gross and longish. I don't mind the length but the color is soooooo evil! I have bits of blonde in some places but the rest is just this annoying dirty color which I hate! I want to be a summer blonde! I just don't want to pay for it...

In other news, I want to dub this summer, the summer of classic novels. Sadly I haven't started reading one yet, but my plan is to read at least three by the end of the summer... I know I could read way more than that, but for some reason, classic novels don't really interest me. I'm doing this more for punishment than for pleasure b/c I hated being the stupid kid in my english class last semester that hadn't read any "good" books other than ones for school. Often in class we were tested on our knowledge of authors (note for grades, just the pleasure of our teacher) and I never knew the answers. I don't want to go through that again... next school year I vow to be more prepared.

Victoria Day Weekend

Saturday and Sunday were all about shopping... and monday (due to many many hours of planning that seemed to all fall through...) I took my bro, Tacky and her sibs to a park just outside both of our towns to watch fireworks! She had been shopping earlier and got a bunch of sparklers.... so while we were at the park waiting for the fireworks to start, we played with some of them. Finally the fireworks started, but sadly they didn't last that long.. but some of them were really cool and big, and part of one landed a little to close for comfort to us in the grass. Afterwards we finished off the sparklers and Ry thought he could throw one up in the air, let it turl, and then catch it again, but when he tried, he got a bad burn.... lol! silly Ry! Anyways, then we drove to a dessert restaurant with tons of ice cream and the boys and I had sundays while Tacky and her sis shared a yummy waffle with equally yummy toppings. That was our night and as I drove Tacky + sibs home, the cutest thing was that they fell asleep (not tacky, just the sibs... lol!). Ry was kinda freaked out about getting in trouble cuz it was a school night... ha ha! it's great being able to go out whenever I feel like it! Yah!

Happy Vicky day! lol.

Why is it still raining?

This room looks pretty bright, but outside it is still raining... for like the millionth day!! grrrrr..... anyways, I have nothing new to report b/c the rain is bumming me out and consequently I'm bored... I really did want to go outside today but I was sure as soon as I did the rain would come poring down.

Still trying to find something awesome to do for may 2/4. Yah for dead queens! lol. ta ta for now!

The Creepiest Day,

Yesterday was sooo weird, I can't get over it, even now it's like everything was fate. So I went downtown to meet Sharon after her work. I'd never taken that bus before so I was a little freaked out, so I got to the station early and bought my ticket. Then the local high school let out as I was waiting for the bus and all these kids that I know from town start walking past me... saw tons of familiar faces. Then this girl I know from church but whom I never really talked to before comes over and happens to be taking the same bus as me so that she can get to her university. Turns out that we had a lot to talk about. It was really weird meeting her there though, apparently very few people take this bus, usually just yourself and one other person, so it's pretty creepy that the first time I take the bus I know somebody... even if it is a really small town. Anyways, so I finally make it to the stop where I was meeting Sharon (unions station) and as I call her to tell her I made it, the man starts walking towards me... it's my uncle (with his gf du jour)! This is a huge station with thousands of people in it..... how weird is it that I randomly ran into him in Toronto, where there are 2.5 million people. Had I been like two seconds later I would have missed him. Sooo creepy! So I talked to him until Sharon came and he met her, then recommended some restaurants cuz he knows the area. Anyways, Sharon and I did some shopping - I'm sooooo upset that Tiffany's closed before I got there... I was dying to go there. All the other good stores were closed too by the time we got there. grrrr... So for dinner we went to the same restaurant we went to for the second surprise bday for Tacky. lol. I really like that place, yummy sushi restaurants.... After dinner we went back to union to catch the bus back home... but guess who is on the bus.... Jenny C. WHAT?!? Yup yup... crazy huh? That's three people that I randomly ran into and shouldn't have if I had taken any other bus... sooooo weird. I was freaked out... mostly about seeing my uncle cuz I haven't seen him for over a year. insane! Oh well... I almost over it now... ta ta!

Sunshine Face

Rain rain go away, Come again another day. Little Johnny wants to play; Rain, rain, go to Spain, Never show your face again!

It's been raining soooo much lately... i've felt guilty that I get to drive around and not get wet so I've been driving my bro to school and back a lot. I'm too kind! lol!

Today I have awesome shopping plans with Sharon. woot! Dinner included. I have no idea where she is taking me, but that's half the fun for sure.

oops. I forgot to add I've gotten all my marks back now. My school ranks you out of ten. If you get an A+ you get a 10, A=9, A-=8... and so on. So first semester I had an 8.8 which I was pretty okay with. This semester, thanx to two embarrasing B+'s, I only got an 8.2. Damn Nation! I blaim hanging out with my friends more... or taking french classes... either one works. I guess this leaves me with an 8.5. Shameful.

I miss blogspot!

Wow, i really haven't updated in a while. Not much has really happened since then... except this weekend which wasn't as bad as I'm going to make it sound now. Anyways, Saturday was pure torture cuz my mom went to the spa and my bro had class so I was left alone with my dad. AAAWWWW!!! We got in a few really minor disagreements in the morning, and then we decided we had to go do some shopping together to prepare for mother's day. So we went out, and during the drive we had at least two major arguments (that I can remember) which resulted in him yelling at me for not good reason. arrg. There was a lot of small talk during that ride and even more silent periods that were much worse. We finally made it home and I stupidly enlisted in his help to bake a cake for mom. oops. I'm not really that bad of a baker, and i have made a few cakes by myself before, but I'm pretty slow and it and wanted to finish faster, so we started baking together. I guess I had forgotten what happens every time we try to do something together: he takes over the project and puts down any attempts that I make. arrg! Everything has to be done his way!! ggrrrrrrrr.....

Saturday night we went down to my grandmother's house (downtown! woot!!) for a chinese food dinner. That was pleasant... although Ry thought he was being super polite by, instead of saying that he was 'full' (as in he ate enough), he said:"I've had sufficient". He was proud that he had been proper and not sooo rude.... but nooooo.... My grandmother said that he could have been more polite by saying:"My sufficiency has been suffonsified and anything additional would be superfluous". Apparently that's the most polite thing you can say when you want to communicate that you couldn't eat anything more. Grandparents just have to be sooooooo proper....

So Sunday (today) was alright. My bro and I made dinner for our mom... and the cake was a big success! Dad iced it and I decorated it. Thus, since we had different assignments, it was pretty okay. Dinner was edible and my mom liked it. yah! Happy mother's day to everyone!

i look like i'm going to kill you in this pic...

Went shopping with Heidi today! Yah! I drove up to the mall closest to her house and we went shopping. Years ago we could have spent hours there... sadly now we did the whole mall in little over an hour - this includes lunch. She bought a new DVD (b/c she has an obsession with this guy i think it is totally ugly!), and a t-shirt, and i bought a tank top (purple) that I found which had finally gone down in price and a t-shirt (pink) for myself. Even though it's a small mall, the prices are pretty okay, cuz i rarely buy two articles of clothing for myself with my own money! lol. After shopping there we drove around the area (gotta love my car). I needed gas and I have to admit that I'm not a fan of new gas stations. So Heidi helped me get to one and fill my car up a bit. Thanks you! lol. I'm a sad little creature if I dislike being at unfamiliar gas stations by my self. lol. ttyl.

No more gilmore girls until the fall...

The season six finale of Gilmore Girls wasn't as good as I expected. I liked it and didn't really predict the end for one character, while the other main character had a somewhat predictable ending. But it wasn't as good as last season's finale...

Anyways, today went pretty well. I was kinda planning to go shopping with Heidi and maybe Heather, but that got pushed... then I wanted to go job hunting with Michelle and Sammy, but I gave up on that... thus, i called up miss celia and we went to the closest mall to hand out resumés... i'm pretty sure none of them will hire me, but at least i can say that i tried. meh. While there, we went to visit Tacky at her work and probably stayed there too long... since she was suppose to be working... but there was nobody in the store, so I don't think it was really a big problem. Why does the B.S. have to be so expensive?!? I did like that blue eyeshadow...

After that, celia decided to help me buy some rice for my mother (don't ask! lol). So we went to the chinese mall and stared at tons of different kinds of rice. I never knew about all those kinds! And they had such huge bags! I really wonder if it would take me a life time to eat just one bag. meh. So I got a little bit of rice just to try it. My mother was super thrilled! lol.

After rice shopping, Celia and I did regular shopping in the mall section... she helped me try the actually spicy fish balls - i actually coughed cuz it was just too spicy... (i have a very low tolerance). But I have to admit that they were really good. Sadly, last time I went there (with my bro) I wanted them but was afraid to order anything... cuz of the language barriers. Yah for Celia being there so I could try them again!! (Had them once with Alice before and she was sooo good to me b/c she made sure they were not too spicy! luv ya tacky!). Celia also got me a strawberry bubble tea.... yummy! Thankfully I have found other places where I can buy those... cuz they really are good. Ironically, while I was culturalizing myself, I saw chinese girls doing the same thing, only they were eating mcdonalds... a slightly more american food... (only slightly these days...). It seemed funny to be that she would be in a chinese mall and be wanting to eat american food while I really wanted to eat chinese food. oh well... maybe i should just stick to my american food and be cultured for a chinese person. lol.

A good day that didn't involve shopping...

Alice called me yesterday morning as promised. We didn't really make any solid plans, just talked about what we could do. After lunch I called up Heidi whom I hadn't spoken to in far too long. We talked for over 2 hours - mostly me updating her on all the lives of the people we both once knew. (My parents aren't going to be happy when they see that bill - lol!) However, during that super long conversation, alice tried to contact me at least 5 times in two different ways. Very little success... cuz i only noticed one of them. oops. Anyways, so after my conversation, I called up Alice who said that she was currently free to hang out and play games like we had originally planned. So I went down, picked her up and drove her back here. Ironcally, she choose to play "Life" the bored game - I said nothing, but it happens to be one of my fav. games and the one game I think I may have played every single time I went to Heidi's house. We played Life FOUR times... and seeing as how we played by the rules of naming all the guys we have to be married to, we found out some interesting things about who would make us the most rich in the end. (Sammy, Alice said you were pretty lucky!) lol. jokes. (Robin, I'll have you know Alice picked you first! and I think you did better then Alvin). But of course RP will always be my main man!!

Good morning! As you can tell by this pic, my hair is two-toned. The top is my natural color - creepy dirty blonde... The bottom is how I like my hair... blonder. While the top probably does match my features best, it's really boring. Something needs to be done about it. eeewwwwww.... my hair is repulsive!

Apart from needing a color job, i'm debating cutting it too... mmmm.... Thinking about my hair is random... although I do it a lot.
*hair hair hair.... *

Ice Cream and Gossip

Last night Heather calls me up and wants to do something... i'm like "it's a frigin' Sunday! NOTHING will be open!!" lol. All the malls were closed and even by the time we made it to Baskin Robbins it was closed... we eventually went to Dairy Queen and reminisced about old times... we have seriously known each other for too long!! lol, so much gossip shared over ice cream...

What got me the most was that my parents wouldn't let me stay out that late b/c they didn't want to be up too late worrying, since they have work 2mora. Not Fair! I'm gone for 8 months at school, out sometimes much later (yummy trips to Zak's), and they don't say anything... but when i'm home i'm freedom-less. Not cool!

Maybe it's b/c I'm driving around in a car... car accidents do make parents worry too much. Point being, i'm not THAT bad of a driver, and I don't normally do stupid things - especially while driving. lol. It's just not fair that I have to compromise my freedom just so that they can go to bed worrying less. Don't they trust me?!? Can't I stay out at least till midnight??!?

I loved hanging out with Heather last night, but we could have had an even awesomer evening if my parents had just let me live like I do in Ottawa. ggrrrrrr....

Hamster Day

So I finally have something cool to blog about. Yesterday I called up Jenny W. cuz we all know she always has good ides for what to do... (she always seems to know where to go). And she told me that she really wanted a pet, so we went out to that huge pet store near the movie theater in search of either a bird or a hamster. Since she once owned a bird already, i convinced her it was time to get a hamster. So we found some baby ones and she couldn't decide which one to get. We only decided right before we were about to leave which one she should choose. It also took us a long time to pick which habitat thing she should get (she got this colorfully cute one) and then we were in search for food, those wood chippings at the bottom of cages, and some cleaning products.

So back to which hamster to choose. There were four females- a black one, a grey one (kind of boring color except cool markings around her eyes), and two brown ones (one big and one smaller). The black one was overly active and a little creepy, the grey one was boring to look at, and thus it was down to the two brown ones... The first one ate a lot and was pretty active, and the second was more calm and pooed on Jenny when she held it... My gut said go with the first one cuz she seemed more healthy, but jenn chose the pooing one probably b/c it was so calm. I dunno exaclty why... but it was a good choice anyways.

I'm totally jealous of Jenny cuz I really want a hamster too, but she has a sister who can take care of it when she goes back to school, I on the other hand asked my bro, and he said "no way!" ggrrrrrr.....

Still don't have a job but I have applied at a bunch of places.

Rejuvenated by Shopping

Went to the closest mall this morning with Tacky and handed out some resumés. Ran into Souki... that was tense... anyways, the three of us did some shopping and the girls bought some stuff. (Guess I broke her no shopping with boys rule... the things I do for Tacky.... lol!) Then we ditched him for a better mall. I spent tons of money there... bough shoes, skirt, bubble tea... good stuff!! I love that mall with all my heart..

I need something to do... better go shopping

Yesterday I was sooo bored. I actually was on msn a lot! and talking to people too!! Oh My!! The highlight of the day was all the junk food I ate: Donut, girl guide cookie, ice cream bar, slices of cheese bread, then home made chocolate chip cookies - which I made last night (don't worry, all this crap was spread out during the day, I couldn't eat it all the once). Yummy!! I love making cookies, especially with my bro's help. But he only helped me because I went to pick him up from his high school that's just oh so far away! Right before his school got out I msned Heather S. and we decided to go for a beautiful summer ride to the school and ended up picking up both our bros. We are such great sisters.

Home For A While

I don't really feel like updating. There is nothing to say anyways... plus I'm just doing it b/c now is the time to do it if I ever was. I miss the freedom of the capital. Chores suck! That's enough for now. bye bye.

I took down the wall

So, while not studying I decided to take down my wall. Worst idea ever b/c it took so much work and effort. I now hate sticky-tack with a passion. I of course made sure it had been well photographed before it all came down. One is with my webcam, and the other picture is from my cell phone. It's sad that both picture are missing so much, and that i never took pictures of my other walls. grrrr... i miss my pink wall.... Now my room is just plain and boring. Everything is either packed away or on my floor. My room has actually never looked messier! Anyways, this clean up was a major part of ending first year. It was necessary on many levels and really made me realize that school is practically over. I have joined the ranks of students with only one exam left and will be out of here very soon. Will I miss this room? not that much. Would I live here again? maybe - if I had a different neighbour my answer would be more affirmative... Will I miss Ottawa itself? Absolutely! But I shall be back.
