If only I was Hello Kitty

SNOW! AHHHH!!! It feels ways way too soon for this! Worst of all, it's still snowing!! And it's actually staying on the ground!! AHHHH!!!! lol. I guess you could say I'm a snowiste because I want this stupid snow to go back from where it came from! Good ridance! My world would be so better off without snow. ha ha ha.

Anyways, I haven't updated in a while, so let me tell you about last weekend. On Friday my roommate, her friend and I had a movie night where we watch the old school Clue movie! lol. Then on Saturday I went out for lunch of with Matt, followed by a concert at the art gallery. We hung out a bit at my place, and I was finally getting dry again (it rained all day) when my roommate and her friend that was up for the weekend took me out shopping for a few supplies for the night. We got back, and started playing some awesome board games... ever heard of quiddler? Well, I lost the English round (despite a good lead for most of the game), but you can beat that I certainly won the French round! WOOT! Let it be known I won by a landslide! ha ha. Anyways, after Quiddler and MadGab, we went out to the bar down the street and drank some more... and didn't come home until after one a.m.! OH MY! Sunday was much more tame, I studied a bit and we all went out for dinner. It was a very good weekend!

Yesterday Jenn and I went shopping in the morning for the finishing touches to our halloween costumes. I got the red headband I needed, but unfortunaly it was a set and I had to get that crazy cherry one from the picture that I think I could only pull off if I was a serious Hello Kitty fan! lol. Anyways, then after class Heather and I went back to the mall and I helped her finish off her costume. We are all going to be sooo cute! I'm sooo excited! Halloween is going to be really good this year it seems!

Avoiding the subject.

It's getting quite chilly up here these days. I miss summer... or last week even when it felt like summer all over again. Anyways, I realize that I haven't updated in a while, which can only be explained half by laziness and half by actually being busy. It's midterm season now, and I only have one down... and three to go. Friday is going to be the worst... I'm actually very worried about that one, but my other two should be alright. Oh, and we just got our exam schedules, so I must find out what is going on with that and when I will be home again. This month I've already been home twice (although once was certainly enough) and I'm glad I wouldn't be home too soon again (it's really just a hassle). Other than that, I actually have news to inform you with, but I can hardly believe it myself. So we'll just leave it for now until it sinks in a little more. Toodles! I'm off to study some more!

More Train Posts

Another post from the train, because frankly there is nothing better to do here than think about life and avoid doing homework. There are lots and lots of farms out here… wherever we are. Je veux simplement ajouter ici que le gars a côté de moi lit un livre que j’ai toujours cru était pour des femmes… celui a propos de les confessions d’une femme qui magasine trop. Tu sais lequel! Bizarre, n’est pas? Anyways, I hate to admit that I am still obsessing, but that kind of attention drives me crazy! MUST STOP TYPING because all sentences are leading me into trouble right now. BIES!

Voiceless

The whole reason I came home this weekend was for my eldest cousin’s wedding on Saturday. As far back as my memory goes, I had never been to a wedding, so I knew that I really aught to make the trip down here to go to this one. Plus, the girl he married has the exact same name as me! CREEPY!! Anyways, my brother came home for the weekend too, so it was nice to see him… but it was great seeing the rest of my family. I probably won’t get to see them at Christmas this year, so who knows when I’ll get that chance again. At first my brother and I kind of kept to ourselves, but we finally made it over to the cool table and ended up having fun. However, with my mix of questions about school and the yelling to be heard over the music, I discovered this morning that I have lost my voice. I have had a cold for the past week now, but I didn’t think that it could actually get worse! Not cool!!

P.S. Guess who caught the bouquet! That was a little embarrassing... especially since I really didn't want it!!

Another Train Post

This is certainly the most time I have had to write anything in a while. This week was far too insane school wise, and even in my minimal social life. On Wednesday I had two presentations, one in French and one in Spanish. The French one last the entire class! I was actually only presenting for roughly 40 minutes, but I had to stand up at the front the whole time for questions. This particular teacher does not seem overly bright because she asked many questions relating to my presentation layout, as well as the material I presented. There was much discussion with the rest of the class too, since I can could the number of students on my hand. Anyways, then later that day I had my Spanish presentation on housewives. (Ha Ha, I am using Microsoft Word to write this and it does not accept the term housewives and wishes me to use homemakers instead! I did not know that it mattered! [This also explains the lack of contractions in my text]). I am certainly more worried about my Spanish presentation because of my horrible pronunciation. In addition, I was forced to present first, which at this point seems like a good idea because everyone in my class is far more advanced than I.

Then on Thursday, a friend of Craig’s had invited me out to see a movie with him to pay me back for not making it to my party last Saturday. (By the way, Saturday was awesome! Casablanca in a club baby!) Anyways, we saw Burn after Reading, the movie with Brad Pitt. I do not exactly recommend it since the start was particularly slow… but then finally Brad Pitt came in and his character was by far the funniest! It was a very atypical role for him. The major problem with the movie (SPOILER ALERT) is that after Brad dies (only actually good part) everyone else just dies too, which is a little funny… but not really. Si vouz voulez en savoir plus, demandez moi!

Anyways, now it is Friday, and it has been a very stressful day. I had class this morning, and then I came home to get ready to leave for Toronto. I had another class just a short while ago, and had to leave from class right to the train station. Thus not only did everyone see all of my luggage, but also when I realized I had forgotten my headphones I knew that I could not return home to pick them up. Fortunately my friend Leslie was in this class and she was kind enough to pick them up at my house and bring them to me at the train station! THANKS AGAIN!

P.S. SERIOUSLY MISSING THE INTERNET!! lol. (Will post this sometime over the weekend… maybe).

Persecution Due to a Quiet Voice Should be Illegal

I'm feeling a little persecuted after my class on Wednesday. It's a very small class, which meant that since I am doing my presentation soon (HIGH STRESS!!) that a lot of that class was dedicated to my project. In fact, for the last 30 minutes of class that was the discussion. Fine. I'll tell you all you want to know about my project. But the minute the topic switched to my quiet school voice I started to get upset. My teacher went on and one and on about how I need to learn how to project my voice. Granted she had never seen me outside of class and doesn't know that I can be rather loud and annoying, she still shouldn't have spent so much time talking about voice projection techniques and acting as if I was incapable. It's not like I haven't heard any of that before, thus I was able to just sit there and let her ramble... but then she got this brilliant idea that the reason I must speak quietly must be because I have braces! GENIOUS! That just MUST be the reason! HA HA HA!! Then she starts on a rant about people's imperfections and that we must not be ashamed of things like having braces or any other nervous ticks. Oh dear... even though braces have NOTHING to do with my quiet voice, I was getting very upset at this point and was on the verge of tears. It's was like she was telling me that my braces were a huge imperfection that I aught to be ashamed of. WHAT!?!? Yea, and she litteraly didn't stop talking about that until my friend and I got up and walked out of class because we really did have to run to the next class that was across campus. I was pretty much feeling rather hurt... but the real icing on the cake was when I ran into this teacher again today and she said "I hope you don't feel that I was being to harsh on you yesterday"... and I said "ummm... well...." and then she went on about how she really didn't think that she had been mean at all (I mean persecuting a student in front of the whole class isn't a little mean?!!??). She also started talking about a friend of hers that talks funny when she gets tired.... saying that at least I don't talk funny like that person.... ummm, was that suppose to make me feel better?!?!?

WEEKEND!

HEY! It's an actual photo update! OMG! lol. So you can barely see what my room looks like, other than the fact that the wall are white and I am seriously considering repainting. My fridge is in the background, with a plant on top of it. That one's name is Philip. There is also a much prettier plant on my desk with me now named Kimberly. She's new. I got her my last day of work this summer.
Anyways, I didn't get too much work done on the weekend, but then again I don't have anything due until October... thus motivation is low. But I'm still quite proud that I wrote most of an essay which means that the weekend wasn't a total waste. I also started a presentation I have to do, but once again, motivation to finish it was low. I don't know when I'm going to get it all done in October though because that month is going to be CRAZY!
Oh, did I mention we got cable tv now!?!?! EXCITING! That may have been the reason why the homework wasn't getting done. lol. I'm very pleased with TV time! PLUS now I can watch all of my shows!! ... in retrospect that is probably going to turn out to be a very bad thing... lol.

This may just work

With over two weeks already completed, I have to admit that this semester isn't going to be too bad... if I can make it though October that is. My courses aren't that challenging, it's just that I have pretty much everything I need to do for ever course due within the same two week span. Arrg. My four midterms are within a 12 day span, in which I also have two major projects and a few minor assignments. That is going to suck! After that though, November is going to be a breeze! (I hope I didn't just jink that!!) Anyways, I feel like I should really start working on some of those things now, but not all of them can be started yet, plus it feels too far away to bother with them yet. After all, my teachers could still give me more information that would affect how I need to approach the projects... right?

Things have been going well outside of school lately too. My roommates and I are having fun together. Jenn and I go on random outings sometimes... like on Friday when she NEEDED a mcdonald's fix. lol... I caved and took half a chicken nugget from her... shame on me!

This weekend is kind of a write off for me, but next weekend Maggie is coming up and we shall have some fun! YAH!

One Week and One Day In

So we finally have internet back in the apartment! Just in time too, class work is getting heavy and I wouldn't want to keep walking to the library just to check something for school. I definitely am happy that I am getting along quite well with my roommates, and that are place is really starting to look nice. Who knows, by the time we leave it might be super cute! lol. Anyways, I gotta go get ready for class! IT'S FRIDAY!! Almost the weekend! :)

Two + One

HEY! Happy birthday to me! I just got back from an awesome lunch (free!) with a friend and decided I had to come to the library to check my email. lol. Today I’m twenty-one years old! I seriously don’t want to turn another day older. In other words this is the last birthday that I want to have… because this is old enough. There are no more special birthdays after this; all the others are people pitying how old you are. Anyways, my friend and I have the same birthday so we both went out for a free lunch at Mother Tucker’s – a very good buffet in downtown Ottawa. Then we did a little shopping, but now I’m alone again with no internet or anything to amuse me on my birthday. Plus, it has started to rain outside, so I feel kinda trapped in the library… but that’s not really all that bad. Anyways, thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday and especially those who called me long distance ;) . You guys are awesome!

Lousy Library Internet!

Hey! I'm back in Ottawa!! School starts tomorrow, so today Craig and I are going on our yearly mission to see the museums and be touristy. lol. This year we are going to the war museum because they are suppose to have an awesome exhibit on deadly medicine. Plus the war museum is one of my favorites! Anyways, we still don't have internet in our apartment, thus I'm in the school's library just so that I can survive with my daily dose of facebook and emails. ha ha. Other than that, our apartment looks great and I'm soooo excited to be back up here. Organizing my stuff took quite a bit of effort, but it was so worth it. The only problem I'm having is trying to get my posters to stay up... they keep falling down - despite using both tape and sticky-tac. :( Ohhh well, it's all a matter of getting the right ratios...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAGGIE!

Many Many Updates

It's been a while, that's for sure! But I didn't abandon my blog! I just got lazy. Anyways, as of today I'm officially done work. It's going to be hard waking up tomorrow and trying to make myself sleep in more... or even trying to get myself to stay awake past 10 o'clock tonight. lol. I have such a lame life during the summer. I'm certainly going to miss work now though... especially the people. They got me a cake on Friday and I've been saying my goodbyes ever since. Many of my coworkers I am used to seeing every day, and now I probably will not see them ever again... it's just very strange.

On another note, I've finished 18 books so far this summer, and I'm thinking about going to two more just to make it an even twenty. lol. Sounds like a good plan to me... if only I could get my hands on the books that I want to read...

Also, and perhaps more importantly, I have braces again. If you want to know why, ask me in person, cuz it's easier to explain it when you can see my teeth, rather than write it down in words. But it's certainly not because I didn't wear my retainer!!! We all know I wore that religiously! Anyways, I'm in a bit of pain now from that, but I'm mostly upset about missing out on good food. I can't even bite into a banana! LAME! And mashed potatoes just aren't very exciting! lol.

Maybe I'll update again soon...
countdown to my birthday : T-3 weeks.

Living

The thing with priorities is... is that we have to make sure that you have the right ones. The first half of my summer I thought that working hard and saving my money was the best thing for me. Eventually one does go a little crazy... spending all their time reading books and living in a fantasy world instead of having any real fun. However, lately I've actually been going out and being more like me.
On Sunday, Sharon, Henry and I went out shopping at Vaughan (which of course has some very good sales on right now). We then had dinner at one of those japanese restaurants where they make the food right in front of you. oOHH it was soooo good!! :) Later we tried to go see a movie but there was nothing playing that we liked.
On Monday, my brother and I went to Yorkdale to buy him a computer for school. My parents joined us there later and I got some shoes and an aritzia sweater! :) I also bought myself a new dress.... It's pretty! I'm all happy with my new stuff and need to find an occasion for a hot red party dress.
On Tuesday, Canada day, I had to work, but my coworkers and I had fun with temporary tattoos that I had brought them. I had a super cute canadian flag in a heart on my cheek all day, and I still have a little maple leaf on my arm. lol. Then at night, some friends and I went out for fireworkers... way past my bedtime! lol. It was good to see people I hadn't seen in soo long! lol.
Today is going to be great too! I've got lots of plans!! lol.

Books Books Books.

This weather is really making me wonder if mother nature knows the difference between spring and summer. I just want to make it clear to her that most of the rain was suppose to stay in spring... and that now it is officially summer. FYI!

I other news, last night was my brother's high school graduation. I was so proud of him for winning the Art awards ($500 reward for his talent!!) which was presented to him in front of everyone. He is really talented and I know that he deserved that for his hard work this year (in art... not so much in his other studies). Now he is officially a graduate and I wish him much success in his post-secondary studies.

I, on the other hand, am the proud academic of the family who spends all of her free time reading books. Escaping into the works of fiction are helping me make it through the summer. I'm already on my tenth novel of the summer. I'm discovering a true love for historically based fiction novels... as those make up a large portion of my accomplishments, but I am certainly not limiting myself to that particular genre. The list so far is: (in order of which I read)

1. My Anastasia - Sharon Stewart
2. Of mice and men - John Steinbeck
3. The scarlet letter - Nathaniel Hawthorne
4. The picture of Dorian Gray - Oscar Wilde
5. Angela's ashes - Frank McCourt
6. The count of Monte Cristo - Alexandre Dumas
7. White Oleander - Janet Fitch
8. The secret life of bees - Sue Monk Kidd
9. Night - Elie Wiesel

And now I'm currently reading The kitchen boy - Robert Alexander.

I should update more

I pretty much can assure you that nothing much has happened since my last post that is worthy of mention. There was that one thing... which I hope you know I won't forget... and certainly did not appreciate as I don't think it was deserved. That (and the aftermath) only solidified my views on you.

Work has pretty much been my savior. It allows me to escape and have a few hours of quiet time every morning. Most people would be jealous that I get to work in such a peaceful environment for three hours before our store opens, but nature just doesn't do it for me... the mosquitoes are enough to drive me insane! At least I feel that I am well liked by my fellow employees, despite the fact that I seem to have laid upon them the impression of extreme innocence. I can assure you that this wasn't done on purpose, as I have just realized that this is a common opinion of me. Of course much of it is true, as admit that I am no rebel child, but I know that I'm certainly no saint, and the idea that someone would refrain from swearing in front of me is laughable. I don't know how to change my image at work without doing something drastic. When I asked why people thought that I was like this, the most common answer was due to my extreme responsibility and desire to do things properly. I don't understand why this would make me be seen as so innocent.... and unfortunately those are traits that I would never change about myself. ... So I guess I'm stuck with the image I didn't chose to create. After all, I can always live for the shock value of revealing my true nature to them at just the right moments. He he he.

Catching My Breath

It's hard to say that my summer has been so busy thus far considering I've been primarily doing the same thing - working. However, I feel like I have very few moments to myself and I value them greatly when I do. Yesterday was also a day off for me, and I spent the day baking muffins instead of going out and having fun mostly because I didn't want to spend any money and I also needed a rest. I'm not doing much today except picking up something at the mall with my brother. I personally feel as though I need these days of nothingness to keep me sane! I work all the time and then come home and crash on my bed.... I've got no fun time most days :(. Thus I hope that I'll be up for fun next week!

Spring Weather Sucks!

It's cold outside! Last week was sooo summery and now it's back to normal springiness. This is making my job seem extra painful! I want to go back to school! I didn't even need to start working before I came to this conclusion. Ack! I hate not having a life right now. I work too much, and on my days off (today being pretty much my first one) I have to relax and rest up for another few days of work! I barely even have the energy to go shopping and have any fun. However, I did make it to the mall this morning and finally bough some nice new clothes. Today has been rather productive, despite the fact that I'm tiring myself out instead of relaxing!

Pumpkin Gelato... with wildberries....

My last exam was yesterday... and technically as of tonight I'll be completely done school for this semester because that's when my group project is due. It's kind of a fun project, my friends and I have to build a Wiki using the knowledge we learned from class (basically rewrite the textbook online)... but of course not everyone is like me so many people aren't posting until recently. Last night there was massive postings and I expect tonight to be the same, but I'm sure that I've already done enough to get a good mark, thus - I'M DONE SCHOOL for the semester. Unfortunately I don't want to have to wait all summer for the next semester to come. I'm too happy being in school.... and I don't want to go back to work just yet. Finally the good weather is here - I've been waiting all winter! and now I'm being removed from it! :( You can't imagine how many times I didn't do something because it was too cold out... and now I feel so liberated... but this freedom is so limited. Grrr!

Anyways, today I went packed a bit and went out with my roommate for a walk downtown. In September she had walk around the whole market looking for a certain gelato place, which we never found, so today we were on a mission to locate it. We had to ask two people, but it was worth it. I had pumpkin and wildberry (super stranger combo I know)... they both tasted really good... just not so great together! lol.

Tonight Heather, Alex and Craig are coming over to help me empty my fridge. he he... got get rid of the last of my smirnoff before I go home! Lol, I clearly need help with this task. Should be a last night.

Ma Chambre est Tellement Vide!

If you can't tell by the title, I'm studying for my french exam now... slash, I totally should be studying for my French exam now. lol. But studying isn't much fun... so I've probably been checking facebook today more than I've cracked open by textbook. shame.
So let me tell you what I've been up to lately. School ended for me on Thursday and I two of my classes were canceled that day, so I only had to go to one! I spent Friday morning writing my first exam (I think it went quite well!) and chilled a bit in the afternoon (what a change!) Then my roommate Meaghan and I went out Friday night to see the movie "21". We both loved the movie, but were probably more shocked that not only did we actually get in to see it (last time was a failed attempt as it was sold out), but that we actually stayed out late! Lol! Then yesterday, we went out with our friend Leslie, whom we haven't seen much this semester, for bubble tea! Yum! Afterwards I contemplated going out with Meaghan and our friend Vicky to a really nice club downtown. I knew it was probably not too bad of an idea, even though I do have my French exam tomorrow. So Vicky brought a bunch of her friends over to our apartment and then we drove down to the club. We were quite dressed up - in dresses and sandals (despite the horribly cold weather) - so we weren't about to walk it even though it's super close! The place we went to was really nice... you could even straighten your hair in the bathroom with a straightener they provided (I thought it was a little gross, but still a really neat idea). We had some drinks and danced the night away... then ended up at our favorite dinner for a 1-2am snack. lol. It's days/nights like that I know I'm going to miss.
Of course I woke up this morning (rather late) feeling just fine... except for the looming feeling of the need to study. Soo.... I SHOULD totally get back to that.

471

wow. so much for posting sooner. It's been well over a month... so I guess that means you can never trust me when it comes to post promises. Anyways, I guess I'm posting more again because I'm super stressed. I think that I post more when I'm stressed.
Last friday, I went out with two friends to see a movie. That same day I had gone to a special sushi lunch with another friend. I have to admit that I never do anything like that... really, I have NO life here! lol. Anyways, today my roommate and I tried to go see the movie 21... but when we got there, it was sold out. :( It's kind of ironic because the last time we went to the movies together (The Bee movie) it was also sold out. Strange seeing as how we go to a huge movie theater. Honestly though, whenever we do try to have a life, we fail. I think the universe is trying to tell me something.

Another "Back To Blonde" Post

Haircut today... no need to tell you how ridicously I over paid for it... but for two hours in a spa like setting, it's almost worth it! So, just as I wanted, I'm back to being a blonde. The color isn't as strong as last time (Thankfully!) and the cut is on the short side (which was needed because I am a cruel to my hair). I'll post a picture when I get back to school cuz I didn't bring home my webcam.

Freedom and Boredom Walk Hand in Hand

HEY!! It's officially reading week! YAH!! I'm still up here in snowy Ottawa, but I'll be home soon! Just like last year I thought it would be a great plan to stay up here for a bit before returning home so that I can get as much stuff done as possible (thus not having to bring tons of books home with me) but once again I find myself with few assignments I feel like starting. I just handed in this week a whole ton of stuff, and the week after reading week is serious midterm time... but it's too early to study now... lol.
Big NEWS! Today is the first day I EVER changed a light bulb ALL BY MY SELF!! That's RIGHT! I even went to the store myself to buy the replacements! Okay, I know I'm like 20 and something like this should have happened years ago... but spoiled little me just did it now. PLUS I didn't even hurt myself (no electrical shock or anything!) Impressive, eh?!

Baking Carrot Muffins

Yummy! I'm in the middle of baking carrot muffins right now... and smells really good in the apartment now. :) I actually have nothing to do today, well, not "nothing" but there isn't anything pressing enough that I feel like doing. I worked really hard yesterday to get all my essays out of the way for fun on Saturday night. he he. Last night I ended up going out with Heather, her boyfriend Alex, and Craig to play pool, air hockey, and fooze ball. Then we went to a local pub to get food and drinks. We didn't know that it was karaoke night there, but that ended up being lots of fun. I've never heard hard metal renditions of "eensy weensy spider" nor "B-I-N-G-O"... they were hilarious! lol. It's not how we planned the evening to go, but it was still fun.
I sunk TWO balls in pool last night! Craig, Heather and I teamed up against Alex for two games... he beat us the first time, but we developped strategy by the second round and took home the victory!! yah! lol. Craig kicked my ass in air hockey, and Heather kicked my ass in some video game, but I still had fun. lol.
Hope this last week of school goes well! :)

Last Chance Look

Today I officially started my "get back to blonde" campaign. lol. I'm planning to get some highlights when I go back home for reading week, but I have restarted my use of blonde shampoos today. So basically what you see now is natural, and the blonde is on it's way back!
I wish I could say that I'm loving this weather, but really it's just making everything slushy and gross! Sadly all the ice sculptures up here in Ottawa are melting too... let's hope they can do something to fix that! Worse though, is that it's suppose to be getting colder! icks! I don't want any more snow! Early spring made a very brief appearance, but seems to be going back into hiding when you look at the forecast.

Stressville!

Although I could theoretically could have gotten more homework done on Saturday, by Sunday afternoon I felt like I shouldn't continue any further in case I learn something important this week in class that will help me with my many essays. I got a good start on my biggest essay of this bunch due next week, but I didn't know how to format it, so I decided to stop before I did something wrong, but it's at least 1/3 done. I have two other ones due around at the same time, neither of which I could have started yet... which frustrates me cuz I wanted to get all of them done this weekend. This week is going to be really bad. Plus this coming weekend Maggie is coming up and I'm going to want to hang out with her... but I'm really going to be screwed that weekend... having to write two essays by Monday and one for Tuesday is horrible. But hey, I can't say that I didn't try to get them done... for one of them I don't even have the topic yet!

HAPPY GROUNDHOG DAY!!

I woke up at 7:30am to see the groundhog report, but after an hour and a half of news all I got was that Punxsutawney Phil predicted six more weeks of winter. I was pretty bummed out, lol. Then finally some time before lunch I discovered that Wiarton Willie, along with most of the other groundhogs predicted an early spring. I was very happy. Thanks to everyone who wished me a happy groundhog day! You are soo sweet!!
Then Craig invited me out for "groundhog" tails (aka beaver tails)... followed by a walk downtown into some of the cute stores. Then he convinces me to go to the lululemon warehouse sale. I wanted to go since Thursday, but I knew I was too weak not to spend money there and thought it was best to stay away. Well, I went... and only got one thing! But I saved like 50%! yah! So all in all it was a pretty good groundhog day... especially since we are going to have an EARLY SPRING!! :) :)

POST 464 - Too Much Homework!

I knew this semester was going to be bad in terms of reading and assignments... especially when compared to the last one, but I feel seriously stressed. I'm no good at writing long French essays.... hell, I'm no good at writing short English ones either!
I'm finding it hard to keep up in certain courses, and it's certainly not because I am having fun instead. I just have the unfortunate luck of having teachers that give too much homework! grrr! I don't know what is worse, February being filled with many short projects, or March filled with fewer but much more challenging ones. I'M GOING CRAZY!

On a brighter note, this Saturday is my favorite holiday of the year... so you better all celebrate in spirit with me! lol. I can't wait to find out if spring will be early, or if I'll have to suffer through more winter. I'm quite excited! Although I know I have to spend most of the day doing projects. boo.

I'm also not excited about the upcoming reading week. I have too much to do then that it's being split between here and home... so my time at home is already filling up with appointments. grrr... btw, who ever heard of a saturday morning dentist appointment?!?!?! I have doubts that it can go well.

Le Weekend

HEY! It's the end of my second weekend back, and I have much more to say about this one. Friday after the gym I got a tiny bit of homework done, followed by a nice little nap, then Heather came over and we started to get ready for a night out. We straightened out hair, had a few drinks (this time I kept up with her!!), then we headed out to our (previously) favorite club. We get there and dance the night away. :) At the end of the night however the service got really bad, it took us probably over ten minutes to get a bottle of water, and then 15 minutes or more to get our coats back. GRRR!! So we are pretty much through with that place (... even though we got in without paying the cover... he he).

Saturday I wake up at a pretty decent time considering Friday's activities... got much more homework done than expected, then at night Craig came over for a dance party!! :) Unfortunately next time I think I'm going to have to download some new music, but is there anything worse than the stuff I've already got??! lol. What's more dancy than the chicken dance song?!?! lol. So we ended up pretty much watching every Britney Spears music video she ever made and critiquing them. he he.

Today I went to the gym with Craig for my first (and only) Yoga class. Craig said it was fun, but my roommate had warned me otherwise. I knew it probably wasn't for me, but I had promised to at least try it once. Well, never again am I doing that! Half way through I wanted to throw up! I know I don't have the strength to do all those moves, and the whole thing was the farthest thing from relaxation I have ever had! I somehow managed to make it back home even though I still felt so sick to my stomach, and then I took a nice long nap.

Kittie update: both cats seem to be well adjusted now to my apartment, however neither of them really seem to like me all that much. They rarely snuggle up to me and refuse to sit with me for long. However, when Heather comes over one of them seems to love her very much. They are very strange. lol.

Cat Lady

I'm back in Ottawa now (woot! Semester 2!). That vacation had many highs and lows... I like going home, but often I just wish myself back here. lol. Anyways, as of last night my roommate and I are co-babysitting two cats for a friend of her's. One of them is still in hiding from me (supposedly the male cat), but the female velvety-black cat is much more brave and has even ventured into my room and let me pat her. :) lol. I have never really spent much time with cats before, causing me to be more of a dog person, but I think that I really do like cats. Since I was born I was always around dogs, but now is my chance to see which one I like better. Plus, fortunately my roommate knows how to take care of them, so I'm not going to be able to kill them :) :).
Last night was Heather's birthday dinner (happy belated Heather!). So we all went out to celebrate. In the afternoon we went shopping at the mall, mostly looking for dresses... because dress shopping is completely different from regular clothes shopping!!!!! Plus I have a wedding to go to in (quite) a few months, so it won't hurt to start looking now. That was lots of fun, but I actually didn't find a single one that both came in my size and was pretty. I'm looking for one that can be used for multi purposes.
Saturday night I was suppose to go see Macbeth with Craig, but we couldn't get tickets :(. Then I was suppose to go see a movie with Meaghan and Vicky, but I ended up at Heather's for some pre-birthday cake. yummy!

So that was my first weekend back. I'm pretty sure the rest will be filled with much more studying - didn't do any at all this weekend! meh. I'm still rewarding myself for last semesters marks! lol.

Holidays

My holidays are almost over. It feels strange not having been overly productive these past few weeks, but I actually had nothing I could have done. I don't have any books or even course outlines yet. So... basically I have been trying to relax. But of course I'm not very good at that and somehow found things to stress me out. I'm partially packed, living out of my suitcase still... I never really unpacked actually... although I did take everything out of the suitcase I came here with to switch it for a bigger one. ha ha... that was after christmas when I realized I would never make it home again with all my new stuff and the old stuff. lol.
New years was alright. I stayed home and hung out with my brother. We ordered pizza and rented a movie. It wasn't anything special... I actually had a very hard time staying awake. It's lame, but I've been going to bed before eleven (sometimes quite a bit before eleven). At least I know I'm not missing much.
Christmas was alright too. I'm happy with the nice stuff I got, and was pleased to see the family again. At least I didn't get "how's school going?" all the much... and I don't remember hearing any follow up questions to my response. Is it possible people finally get tired of asking that question? lol.

Happy New Year!!

Hope this one is a good one for everyone!

Saturday, December 22, 2007

So this is Christmas...

I'm hiding up here in my room tonight. There's a bunch of old people downstairs right now, and I'm so not in the mood to make small talk about school and such. My only ally has deserted me. boo. The next few days aren't going to be super fun either. For the next three days in fact I'm going to have to deal with the family and perhaps my parents' friends. ick!
-I just deleted the rest of this post an hour after I wrote it.

Snow at my Window

It's strange that back at school my computer's internet only works in certain parts of the house while at home it works everywhere, thus making it more likely that I'll be able to be near my webcam, which I don't like having attached to my computer.
Anyways, so that's what I look like now... in pretty serious need of a haircut if you ask me. It is however my preference to get haircuts done after christmas so that I don't end up with terrible hair for the pictures and for family visits. *how vain*... but honestly, I like knowing what I can and cannot do with my hair, but if I get my haircut before christmas then I may not know how to get it the way I like it. I suppose you could say I'm not brave enough to give it a chance, which is totally true, but in this family one does try to look there best at all times.

Thoughts from the Train

It looks so chilly outside. Thankfully I’m in a cozy warm train right now watching Christmas movies. First was Rudolph the red nose reindeer - such a classic! I totally love the island of misfit toys! Lol, I wouldn’t mind an elephant with pink spots… and I’m sure any little boy would like a water gun that squirts jelly. Although I have to say I have never seen either of those toys in a store. Ha ha, and then there was the train with square wheels, okay, that one is a misfit because it simply doesn’t work! Anyways, Rudolph saves the day with his red nose, even though everyone made fun of him when he was growing up. It’s funny he’s not more emotionally scarred. I’m not even going to comment on the elf that wanted to be a dentist… wouldn’t that be a demanding field in Christmas town since everyone probably eats a lot of sweets? Meh. I just finished watching the Grinch that stole Christmas (the cartoon version). My all time favorite part is when the Grinch’s heart grew three sizes that day after he learned the true value of Christmas. Plus, Cindy-loo-who is super cute as she embodies the innocence of a child.
One thing I noticed in both movies was the animal cruelty. First in Rudolph there was Yukon Cornelius who was a dog sledder that was whipping his dogs. Plus Santa was doing the same thing with the reindeer! But it’s not like that would make the reindeer go any faster, unless you can speed up your flying speed by pushing more air passed you… like the dogs that can actually run faster. Meh. Anyways, all humans in the movie were shown often whipping the animals. I didn’t really notice it, but then when the Grinch came on and I saw how violent he was to his little dog, I was shocked I had never spotted it before. I mean honestly, that dog was being seriously abused but still in the end he came to save the Grinch from falling over a cliff. What a good dog!
So, I really didn’t expect to be sitting on a train ranting about children’s Christmas movies, but what are you going to do when you have nothing to do? … It’s rather strange not having anything to do. It’s been rush-rush/stress-stress this past week. Yesterday I wrote my last exam of the semester and then handed in my take-home. Now I’m FREE!! Actually, I have quite a nice and long break (compared to most years). Let’s hope I make the best of it!

Sugar Plum Fairy Night

Just finished my second exam... and of course there was some things that I didn't know, but all in all I'm sure I couldn't have done that poorly. Now I just have one more exam and a take-home to finish. I'm soooo excited!! Almost done the semester!! WOOT!! So this is my scheduled plan for the next week.

Tonight: I'm going to see the nutcracker with my friend Craig. That will push my christmas spirit into high gear. Plus I love the ballet! (Surprisingly I never talk about it, considering that part of my blog name references it... lol). So you can only imagine that I'm super excited! I've only seen it once before when I was much younger but I loved it!
Saturday: clean up house, go shopping, and then host dinner party for friends
Sunday + Monday: study
Tuesday: study party!
Wednesday: study
Thursday: hand in take-home and write final exam
Friday: freedom!

Can't wait! lol.

It's going to be a long winter

Wind chill of minus 25 degrees?!?!? Are you kidding me? The news is telling me to stay inside because of high frostbite risk... I think I'll stay inside then. Stupidly though, I've already been outside today... and it's quite cold... I'm talking you-can-feel-it-in-your-lungs type cold. ouch! Yesterday probably felt colder though because of all the snow and lack of sun, but it wasn't nearly as bad as today. brrrr.... chilly chilly.
So exams are coming, I only have 5 more classes to attend to and then I'll be in serious exam mode (hopefully... lol). By this time next week I'll only have two more exams and then I'll be done. Can't wait! However that means that this week is going to be pure hell. lol. no wait, hell is warm... so think of a place that has a tortuous name but is equally cold. That's here I'll be.

Snow Blizzard

Okay, it's really starting to look and feel like December/Christmas time. I've got Christmas music in my head and it's a blizzard outside. Not cool. Normally I'd be huddled in bed under the covers for warmth right about now, but today I'm super cheery and feeling productive. This morning I woke up at 7:00am to do some extra studying for my 8:30am midterm. I ended up making a friend in that class and I think I did well on the midterm. Finally I'm done all of those and I can concentrate on assignments and exams (oh joy!) Anyways, I got out of there around 9:00am (yea, 30 minutes to complete the midterm sounds sketchy to me too but you had to be there to understand), and then I went grocery shopping. Came back home, dropped my purchases off, went to the mall, did some clothing shopping... I don't like the new colors for this season by the way... did some book shopping... which was not cool because Chapters didn't have the book I wanted... and then headed off to parliament hill to get a picture of the first snow fall... oh yea, I forgot to mention I did all of this in crazy snow falling. I headed home happy with my productivity (by then it was just past 10am) and went to the other grocery store to pick up a few more things I knew were cheap there.... plus was planning to start some more christmas shopping but a certain specialty store I wanted to go to wasn't open yet. Grrr... so anyways, I made it home just past 11am to watch Martha Stewart (I don't normally, but I wanted to warm up a bit so I watched her make turkey stuffing)... and now I'm thinking I ought to start some of my homework for the weekend. I only have one more class this week, and it's a field trip tomorrow!! I'm super excited because some of my friends and I are meeting bright and early for pre-breakfast... and then we get to go "shopping" after the field trip presentation at the store. coolness. lol. Anyways, I have yet to feel the winter blues.

What's up with you?

It feels like this semester is almost over, when I well know I still have well over a month. I keep looking at the stuff I need to get done between then and now, and as that list gets smaller, I feel so much closer. So I guess I need to remember that now is when most of the weight of my marks is coming in, so I need to be just as focused as before. However, now is when I'm getting tired of the homework stress and want to go out and have fun. I really should find a way of balancing my life... but the fact is, I don't think it would work for me too well because not having loads of time to do my work would just make the situation worse. meh.
Anyways, I have to say I really haven't been up to anything interesting at all... I spend a lot of time helping my friends and classmates with their homework... either forcing them to accept my answers instead of theirs for assignments or by teaching them everything.... lol.
I'm excited by friday with baking with Heather followed by a party at her house.... but friday morning I have a presentation that I'm scared about. So going out friday is like a reward for getting through the presentation... no matter how poorly I do.

Time Switcheroo

Another wasted day. It's getting really cold here... so no adventures either. cold cold cold.
On another note... who was it that decided to move daylight savings back one week... and why did they do that? Actually, I don't want to know because there is probably a scientific answer to that question that I am really not in the mood to hear. Strangely enough, europe switch their clocks this week but america is being weird. I wonder if the deal is that America wanted to switch and thus Canada followed along because we wanted to be in sync for the week.... or perhaps that is not the case at all and I am simply being unfair towards americans. meh.

The movie I never saw

Today I didn't get much work done. Finally did some laundry... I know this seems very wrong, but I haven't done any in a really long time. tsk tsk on me. Not only do I hate that it costs me so much money, but because I don't do it very often, my load gets very full, and then it doesn't dry very well... so basically my room got invaded today with semi-dry clothes that are still drying... sleeping tonight on a wet bed is going to be amusing...

Tonight Meaghan and I decided to have a life and go out to see a movie (plus my buy-one-get-one-free movie pass was running out of time). So we go to the theater and get the last two seats for "dan in real life"... but when we went into the theater, there was no space... so we got a refund and went home. Now I'm just trying to waste some time and not go to bed crazy early like last yesterday.

POST 450! (Milestone)

Midterms are over for a while. Thankfully. But I'm still waiting for the results. This weekend I just have projects to do... but of course that doesn't mean it's going to be an easy weekend. Soon enough I'll be in November's midterm and project hell. sounds like good times ahead! ;) So my goal is just to be able to make it through november and then december should be worse... but short. I can see the end of the semester fairly clearly even though it is still so far away.
Anyways, that seems rather like a rambling paragraph because I am watching TV right now and not really thinking. I obviously don't want to start on those projects just now. tsk tsk.... motivation needed!

Welcome to midterms

Well, it hasn't been THAT long since I last updated! These past few days have been crazy! Thursday I met up with an old friend who I hadn't seen since last school year, and we went out for lunch and bubble tea. Then I had studied a bit with a mutual friend who had come with us that day for our midterm tomorrow. Then that night I went out with Heather's friends for dinner followed by fun times back at her place. Friday morning I went out with Heather and Steve for breakfast, followed by some intense studying. Friday was our university day, thus no classes. Yah! Saturday was pretty much spend studying also... seeing as how I have three midterms coming up this week. ooch! Today I studied some more and the highlight was when Leslie, Meaghan and I went to the park for a study picnic. Of course it was more us helping Leslie and showing off how much we knew. Which proves how smart we are!! :) Anyways, I'm headed into midterm hell... wish me luck!

90s Night!!

HEY! I have no excuse for not updating the last few weeks... I've just not felt the need to spend my time blogging when I know it can be used for some many other good things. Oh yes, as for this scary photo... my program is having a 90s karaoke night tonight... so yea, it put on the scrunchy, and the hot pink nail polish, the funny shoulder showing shirt, and childish star earrings... lol.. and just think, I have done the scary 90s makeup yet!
Right now I'm listening to my 90s music to the vibe... oh spice girls! backstreet boys! vengaboys! aqua!! Oh my! lol.
I'll hopefully try updating more often, but I've got crazy midterms coming up soon... so we shall see what happens. Of course hopefully next time I wouldn't have the pink scrunchy. ha ha. ttyl!

Sicky

Don't worry, I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. I've just been seriously ill. Things started to get really bad almost four weeks ago when I got back from summer school. In that week I went to the doctor's twice and the hospital once. My health was in a really rough condition. The following week, despite my parents' wishes, I moved up here for school. Things were going better once school started and I seemed to be doing well at keeping my health a secret... sure I wasn't perfect, but it was manageable. Then last week, due to my serious loss of blood for weeks, I started to become anaemic. I got kinda scared about that... I was still able to make it to class, but my pale face was starting to give things away. For days all I would eat was food full of iron to keep my energy high enough. Then this week things got bad all over again and I ended up missing school on friday. I can't even remember the last time that I missed school due to illness. I don't know what was worse, missing school or being in such discomfort. Anyways, I think I'm on the mend now... I have some energy back and hope to make it to school on monday. I can't imagine missing more school.

Oh My! I'm Old!

Yesterday was my twentieth birthday, and from the moment I woke up my day went pretty well. First off, I woke up to the lovely smell of fresh cupcakes being made just for me by my awesome roommate. She decorate one with a candle for me... now that's a breakfast! ha ha. Then I went to class, where I got to see most of my friends that I hadn't seen all summer.
For lunch my friend, whose birthday was also yesterday, and I went out to this really cool buffet where we got to eat for free because it was our birthdays. I would say normally that this is a fairly expensive restaurant... so we felt so cool that we got to go there for free! I normally would not have thought of how to abuse my birthday powers... but she taught me that you can get lots of things for free you your birthday. Anyways, we when had stuffed our faces, we came back here to watch a movie.
When my roommate got home we decided to try and sell all the cupcakes... like a bake sale... on our street. So I made a little sign, and she got a little table... and we sat outside like 5 year olds with a lemonaide stand. ha ha. Profit = 20 cents. ha ha. It's sad when we were not able to sell even one for our asking price of 50 cents. Eventually we gave up... happy at least that somebody had bought one from us.
At night we went out for drinks and a really nice walk over to Québec. We failed to sneak into a concert, but I got to see some really cool sites that I never thought I would see.
All in all, it was an awesome birthday... minus of course having to go to school.... but I just wanted to thank everyone for their birthday wishes! You guys are the best!!!

First Day Of School

Okay, so I didn't really solve my Internet problem, but I temporarily found a way to get faster Internet... which was as simple as switching rooms. Anyways, today was the first day of school. I woke up so excited for class, and left ridiculously early. My class happens to be one for first years, and I think everyone in my class was a university newb. It was quite painful to hear when the teacher started explaining the differences between a prof and a teacher... and then about the rules of university. Thankfully this should be the last first year course I ever take. It was funny to see some of the kids looking terrified at being there, while others seemed to fit right in. Today's class really made me appreciate university life. I have to say that even after a super boring class today, my good mood over school should last quite a while. I'm just a nerd.

Summer is OVER

Sorry about the serious lack of updates these past few weeks. At first I was too busy to do much, but then I got quite sick. But I'm much better now, so don't worry. My internet is a little slow right now, so i'm not too sure when my next update will be. Hopefully soon though, because it feels so weird not to update.
Anyways, I'm back at school now and shocked out of my mind that class starts tomorrow. wow. What happened to my summer? ha ha. Oh, and friday is going to be an awesome birthday!

It's more like a trip home

well, I don't think I'm going to sum up everything you missed these past few weeks. There were many highs and lows... but all in all it was fun to be in Québec for the summer. Right now I'm home for the moment, but haven't spent much time actually being home. My first three days back were spent reading Harry Potter, along wit running errands for my parents and getting my licence (woot!). Oh, plus yesterday afternoon was really good because Alice dropped by and took me out for ice cream! lol. She's the best! Anyways, i'll be gone again quite soon. This morning I woke up and before I opened my eyes, I asked myself where I was. It took me a while to remember. I can't wait for school to start so I can stop all the craziness and settle down a bit.

shop shop shop

Another very good weekend has been spent here. Saturday was quite productive, I started off doing good deeds for people... but of course this involved a little shopping... then I got a project out of my way before going out for dinner at the best italian place I have ever been to with Alice and Robin. OH! It was sooooo good!! ha ha. Afterwards we headed out to see the last night of fireworks.. but sadly we didn't make it. :( We didn't get there in time, but we were still able to see them in the distance. Then we went dancing downtown as I corrupted my friends... bwhahaha!!! We dragged ourselves home late last night... only to wake up this morning for more shopping!!! :) :) - okay, what is with these smilies today? I never use smilies... what a strange mood I must be in. Anyways, just got back from dinner and now I'm going to try to organize my photos.... plus study... of course!

Mall Love

It's probably been a while since my last post, but the only highlights are that I am doing well in school, that I went to see cirque du soleil, and that I found a super awesome mall. This is no regular mall... of course it has tons of great stores (fell in love with a watch, a pair of shoes, and tons of clothes), but it also has: a Ferris wheel, a carousel, bumper cars, a roller coaster, mini-put, a two story arcade, lots of rides for kiddies, a rock climbing wall.... and separate TWO movie theaters! Did i mention some of my new favorite french stores! lol. There is only one problem.... it takes quite a while to get there. Meh... anyways, I'm totally in love. It's like the coolest place ever!
Well, here starts another week of school. I hope everything goes well.

J'étudie Icitte

I thought this was going to be easier than it is. I didn't plan on doing any serious studying this summer! Nevertheless, I do what is necessary, so today I confined myself to my room to make some pretty pink study notes for my upcoming exam... then I started working on my oral presentation. Both I'm totally freaked about cuz I don't know what is expected. I feel like maybe I am working too hard for summer school after a day spent like today, but on the other hand perhaps this is totally normal. All I know is that I'll probably ruin tomorrow with more homework and studying again... this shouldn't be how my summer is going! Oh well, there is always next weekend pour s'amuser.

Gothic?

Quiet night alone tonight. Spent most of my day doing homework, and now pretty much want to die of boredom (homework required me to read sports newspaper articles in French... really not up my ally!).
So tonight I decided to give myself a little mini makeover. I didn't mean to go so gothic looking, it just kind of turned out that way (I blame the lighting). And just think, this is a picture after I took most of the makeup off. lol. creepy? I just have to say that if my skin ever got the white I hope somebody drags me into the sunlight.

Concert

Last night Tacky, Souki and I went to see an Alexisonfire and Billy Talent concert. We were all having a great time until about half way through Billy Talent's act it started to rain. It was already kind of cold and windy, so the rain just made it worse. We sat there huddled under Tacky's umbrella for a while but when we started to go numb and get really wet we decided to head back home. It's a shame we had to miss the finale... but at least we didn't get sick. Meh, anyways, aujourd'hui on espère d'aller magasiner parce qu'on a entendu qu'il va pleuvoir encore. dommage!

Dans Mes Rêves

wow. I have already been in Québec for a full week. At first I was really afraid of getting caught speaking en anglais, mais I think I have calmed down a bit. However, a strange thing has happened, I have started to dream in french again. *curses*. The whole dream wasn't in french, but I definitely had a long speaking role where french came out of my mouth perfectly. This either means that I actually can speak french but psychologically I don't want it to come out, or that I dream of one day being able to speak french fluently. mmm.... dunno which one that could be. If only I could remember the exact words I said in my dream, so that I could see if they made any sense (they did in the dream, but that doesn't mean they would make sense in real life).

Hier on a cuisiné ensemble, puis c'était là quand je me suis rendu compte qu'ils peuvent cuisiner! En fait, c'est toujours moi qui ne sait pas comment le faire! ha ha.
Bon, il faut que j'aille! A bientôt!

Hard Words To Say

I have said too many goodbyes lately. I feel like something is trying to eat at my heart. I'm leaving lots of friends behind at work, and although some of those goodbyes were quite challenging, nothing compares to the funeral yesterday. Nothing hurts more than to see your family members is such a state of total wreckage. My uncle died over a week ago, and I felt sick about it all, but I was totally dealing with everything quite well until yesterday when I saw the pain my family was in... I don't even know how I was holding myself together then. Saturday is going to be quite hellish too, but if I can stay strong just a little longer than the rest of my summer should be back to normal.

I have never said so many goodbyes in such a short period of time. Life is real hard right now.

Am I In The 8th Grade? If Only.

Today I saw my eighth grade teacher. She came up to me at work to ask me a question... and I just stared at her. It has obviously been years since I last saw her... but I recognized her right away. She talked to me en anglais - that was the strangest part. lol. Then when I got home I called my friend from elementary school who I haven't seen in forever and we gossiped just like we were thirteen again. ha ha. Right now I really feel like an imature teenie-bopper. Shame things aren't as simple as they were back then. I remember swearing I would never complicate my life single handedly. I never forsaw that the world would do it for me.

Don't worry - I can take it... I think.

Too Much Sun Getting To My Head?

You will never guess what I did today. I'd give a million guess, and never, ever, would I expect you to think of this one. Today I planted flowers for charity. I had to actually follow a cooworker arounded downtown to the place (got super duper lost!) and arrange the plants before the mass planting. I actually did charity work without any benefits (except free water) for 1.5 hours! Bet you never would have guessed that! ha ha. I did however grumble all day about being stuck doing it, even though I knew it wasn't going to be that bad. meh. It really was okay, in fact, I got to see an old cooworker I missed and see other ones out of normal context. I guess this means I can get out of charity work for another 4 years. lol.

She Got Bangs!

I walked in there not knowing what I wanted to have done... execpt that my hair had to at least touch my shoulders. I had been thinking about it all morning without coming to any conclusions. I secretly did want bangs, but nobody I talked to seemed to agree with me. No hairdresser before now seemed to really care about what would look good, they only wanted to play it safe and give me a shorter version of what I already had. I have to admit that I finally found a good hairdresser that I like. I told her to do with it what she wanted, as long as it was not too short. I said nothing about bangs to her... in fact, she suggested them. Now I am pleased, and I would almost say that that hair salon will be my new fav place - EXCEPT that it happens to be in this small town. You might now believe this but the lady next to me was actually my neighbour from across my street. Seriously! Only here would that happen! I didn't even know that was where she went to got her hair done. Now I know. Normally this would mean that I would have to swear the place off for good... but I don't know if I can. Why do I get so vain?

Last Pic With Long Hair

Another day off without anything to do. Later today I am getting my haircut... which is pretty much the highlight for the day. I never know what I want done... so maybe I'll get something crazy, but more than likely I will just trim it a bit. I'm going to be trying out a new hairdresser because I have a goal to see who is the best in town. ha ha. It's not that I'm picky about my hair at all, it's just that I want to see what someone else can do with it. Personally I wanted to get this done quite a while ago... even though I like my long hair, it's really annoying in the summer.

430 ~ No Change

Happy Belated Birthday Craig!!
I wish I had been in Ottawa to celebrate with you! Sounds like it was an awesome night!

So basically there is nothing new to talk about. I bet that the sens would win the stanley cup, but they didn't, so I owed my friend from work a tomato plant. On saturday I took my bro out for chinese food at my fav. place to go then we went to a local park to eat. Plus that same day my high school friend came to visit me at work. Last night I met up with Tacky at the mall during her break. That sums up my week pretty well. This week at least is going to have a better start because I'm going shopping tonight at a rarely visited mall because my brother needs something. Interestingly I know exactly when I visited it last... and I wish I didn't. Only Tacky could guess which mall that is.

Sting or Bite?

Interesting thing happened to me at work today. Two hours into my shift my left ring finger became itchy, and then it got really hot... so much that running it under cold water wasn't helping. All my other fingers were fine, and I felt fine apart from that. Not long after my finger swelled up quite a bit and was suffering in pain. I didn't know what to do... and after talking to my friend over what I should do, I told my supervisor who gave me an icepack to carry around. My huge finger could not feel the cold from the icepack, although my other finger froze. Oddly it wasn't the whole finger that was suffering, just the middle part - which made it really painful to try to bend. I'm not sure if it was a sting or a bite. Just before I left work I noticed the swelling had gone down and now it feels almost back to normal. The strange thing is that I didn't do anything out of the ordinary today... so I don't understand how this could have happened.

Sunshine Going Down!

When I'm at work, I want nothing but to be at home. When I'm at home, I almost want to be at work. Today I had a day off, and although it was nice to relax, chill, and basically do nothing all day, I feel like I waisted a good day. Frankly, I was bored today. I didn't know what to do with all this spare time, especialy since I can't sleep in anymore. Well, I have to admit that at least I didn't have to deal with any mean customers today. On saturday I had a really mean one (the meanest I have ever delt with) that yelled at me and cursed my compagnie... she almost made me cry. I was really shaken that day and vey upset (en français je dirais que j'étais boulversée)... and worst of all nobody except my work friends knew about it because I didn't want to get upset about it all over again. It has been a couple of days now, and as I look back, I realize it was totally stupid for me to get all worked up, in fact I should pity that customer for they probably have a terrible life.

La Dia De Mi Coche

Today started off alright... I really didn't want to be at work, but things were going well. I had two major sales that almost made me wish that I worked on commission. Later however, the weather got way too hot... which slowed me down soooo much... I barely did anything, yet when it started to rain 30 mins before the end of my shift, I did more than I had done in the few hours before. lol.
Anyways, last night I had decided that today I was going to look after my car, so I sat down with my parents and asked them what I needed to have done when I went to get it serviced. They gave me a list, and when I got there today I handed the receptionist the list and told her "I want those done". She probably thought I was retarted or something. meh. Then I said "like, how long would that take?" and she said an hour and that I could just sit here and wait... but I said "ummm, actually I'm gonna go shopping"... I knew that sounded bad, because everytime I go there, I look like a complete idiot. Anyways, shopping didn't go well either as I was looked like a stupid person once again trying to buy new wipers. lol. Then on the walk back to the car place it started to rain heavily again, so I returned as a socked idiot with a shopping bag. meh. Hopefully I will not have another dia por mi coche anytime soon.

Finally, A True Night Out

After work yesterday Alice called me up and we decided to go out for dinner when she finishes her work. I did some light window shopping before picking her up... lol, then we went to visit Robin. The three of us hung out in his kitchen while I was analyzing his parents' flower placement... but that is what happens when flowers are all you can think about. ha ha. So yea, we had some of Robin's birthday cake... and I was enlightened about ice cream cakes. Then Tacky and I went out for dinner and ran into a girl from high school that I didn't really get along with. Thankfully she wasn't our waitress, who knows what would have happened... but then again, that was ages ago... on the other hand, I wouldn't doubt that our server talked to her after we left about us. meh... oh the drama. Anyways, then we went out for bubble tea... I loved mine so much, and would probably say it was one of the best ones I have ever had. By that time it was way past my normal summer bedtime, so I dropped Tacky off and headed home. Driving home was the creepiest thing, because it was just after 11 o'clock yet my town was pretty much a ghost town. There was nobody to see for miles! Typical.

425 - Hot Summer

Nothing exciting is happening... the highlights of this week are: monday - grandparents came to visit me at work and brought me chocolate to get me through the day. tuesday - I saw a bunny rabbit at work. wednesday - had to drive around a bunch of geese to get to work... they were blocking my path. thursday - heather bought me a hot chocolate on her way to work super early this morning which really made my day.

It's a Charmed Life

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROBIN!!
Enjoy this special 20/20 birthday!

Today I went shopping at my favorite mall... and had mommy buy me a couple of nice shirts. She rarely spoils me so, but this has put me in such a good mood I'm not thinking into it too much. I've been bitter with work so much lately, or simple just too tired to care about anything, so I guess today was really necessary to lift my spirits. Hopefully days like today will get me through the rest of the working part of the summer. Okay, now it's starting to seem like I'm a clothing obsessed little girl who is easily pleased.... meh, that could be true after all.

What Happened To Those Thunderstorms?

The double picture is from yesterday, I didn't know which one to use, or what to write. In fact I didn't do much yesterday... except a lot of cooking. My family has a new rule (lol, another, I know~), that I have to cook one night per week (this is full of restrictions and sub-rules). I chose Monday (to get it over with - I don't procrastinate)... so I made this casserole from a recipe Craig gave me (the one we made at maggie's xmas party)... only I had double the amount of meat... so I ended up having to double most of the other ingredients. In the end, it turned out really well... I would actually make it again to eat. My family enjoyed it too. However, now they have this idea that I can actually cook and expect good meals in the future. This cannot be good... since I actually can't really cook. meh. That sounds like such a pathetic Monday off, but that's pretty much what happened. Anyways, I'm super tired from work right now, I was expecting a nice rainy cool day, but it turned out hot and sticky... not cool!

Dress For Summer And It Will Come

Summer has been a little lousy, just waiting to see my friends. Hopefully this week it will turn around. I haven't been anywhere or done anything yet, but really, who's fault is that? On my days off I just relax... which is pretty sweet! I so badly want to go get my haircut... but I'm unsure of what I want them to do. Side bangs? Just a trim? Cut shorter? Dunno. I hate being undecided. Enough hair talk... I do that way too often. Ummm, right now I'm just hoping that the next 8 weeks go by really fast and that I make lots of money so I can spend the rest of the summer being studious while still having fun (which is much more my forte than this hard manual labor). Anyways, adios.

Working

Haven't posted in a long time. If you lived here you would know why. Anyways, I had my first day back at work aujourd'hui. It was more painful than I expected... even with my scary supervisor off for the day! Grrr... I had to deal with newbs. Patience being seriously tested.... especially when one barely speaks English. When I talk to him, he gets all scared and has no idea what I am saying. This might be because lots of people think that I talk fast. I don't really think that I do, but I certainly do to someone who's first language is not English. Also, I tend to want to make things look perfect, but when my manager tells me to move things over and over again, I start to get a little frustrated. When I put something on a shelf, I make it look nice, but then I am told (sometimes less than an hour later) that it has to be moved. OMG! So then I go and move it... but by the third time, I really lack the will power to make it look as nice as it did the first time.
I am so tired. I hope your summers are going well.
